I love a full coverage foundation, it’s the first thing I look for when trying out a new one. If it’s not full coverage then I’m not interested! After having suffered with severe acne and scarring, full coverage foundations were the only ones that made me feel comfortable and confident. Now my skin has cleared I find myself still reaching for the thick, matte foundations because I can’t get enough of the smooth, airbrushed finish they give! So If, like me, you’re a full coverage fanatic, there here is a list of my 5 favourite full coverage foundations. This post is in collaboration with Sarah from Sarah’s Blog Corner, so be sure to check out her post, and give her a well deserved follow, as she talks about her top five highlighters!
This is my holy grail of foundations! It completely transforms my skin and is the perfect full coverage foundation in my opinion. I use it pretty much every day and don’t have a single complaint. This foundation covers and conceals any blemishes or scarring I have without it looking cakey. It stays smooth and flawless looking all day and I have received so many compliments while wearing it.
As you may know Charlotte Tilbury is my favourite brand and cannot make a bad product! The Magic foundation is just that, magic. It’s a buildable full coverage foundation, which I really like. If I’m having a good skin day then one layer would work, but if I need a bit more coverage then two or three layers will achieve that. It has a semi matte finish so it looks natural with a slight glow, it lasts a good amount of time and feels very light on the skin.
If I find myself a bit low on money and can’t afford the high end foundations I love so much then this becomes my go to. At only £6.50 this foundation is a complete steal! It’s very thick and a little really goes a long way. I find just one layer covers everything. It has a mousse like consistency but again doesn’t look cakey and, as the name suggests, has a very matte finish.
You’ve all heard of the cult favourite Double Wear foundation, but the Double Wear Maximum Cover really takes it to the next level. Described as camouflage makeup that can easily cover tattoos this foundation does not disappoint. Similar to Rimmel Stay Matte foundation it has a mousse like feel to it and you don’t need a lot to get full cover, too much will make you look muddy and cakey, something I learned the hard way. It’s an expensive one but it lasts a very long time and the look and feel of it makes it worth the price.
It’s been a while since I’ve used this foundation, hence the picture being from Max Factor’s website rather than my own. This was my go to while I was at university and I’ve been thinking about picking it up again after remembering how much I loved it. It gave me a full coverage while looking natural and feeling light. It was very easy to wear, lasted all day and fit in perfectly with my student budget.
Those are my personal five favourite full coverage foundations, if you have any other reccomendations then please let me know in the comments because I love finding and testing new products!
