Black Owned Beauty Brands to Support
Black-Owned Beauty Brands that Deserve More Attention
I have been shocked and horrified at everything going on in the world. As a privileged white person, I was completely unaware of just how much racism still existed. Of course, I knew it was still there, that some backwards thinking people believe that they’re better than black people, I just didn’t know to what extent.
Since the murder of George Floyd, I’ve done a hell of a lot of research on the topic of racism and police brutality. Over the last week, I’ve signed countless petitions. Read all about other black murder victims, Sandra Bland was one that really shook me to my core. I’ve shared resources on my Instagram and Twitter. I’ve started the series and documentaries on my Netflix watch list and I’m compiling a list of books by black authors I want to read. If anyone has any recommendations please let me know in the comments.
One thing I also really wanted to do, to show my support to the black community, was create a list of all the incredible black-owned beauty brands that deserve way more attention.
Some of these brands are ones that I already know and love. While other’s are ones that I’ve come across on social media, through my own research or seen on other people’s blogs that I want to explore and try their products.
