Can’t Fight Temptation | Beauty Haul June 2019
Over the last month, I’ve been picking up a fair few beauty bits that I haven’t been able to resist! I’m terrible when it comes to fighting temptation. Especially when I’ve got bad people influencing me to buy and try things…you know who you are! Anyway, for today’s post I thought I’d do a good ol’ fashioned beauty haul and show you all the exciting new products I’ve acquired.
The shopping isn’t great where I live, in a small town in Somerset. Very recently though our local Superdrug finally introduced a NYX section! This was very exciting news to all the beauty lovers who live here. As you can imagine it was pretty packed every time I went in to have a browse. The products that were the highest on my list to try though were their eyeliners. I’ve been wanting their white eyeliner since around last Christmas so I finally picked that up, along with the Vivid Brights purple/blue liner and a green liner. The colours are so pretty and eye-catching and they were also very easy to use. You may recall my Spring Floral Eyeliner Tutorial where I used these liners.
NYX Soft Matte Lip Creme
I also picked up one of their Soft Matte Lip Creme Liquid Lipsticks in the shade Leon and it has since become my go-to everyday, nude lipstick. It’s really comfortable to wear, stays on for a good amount of time and is easy to apply. I definitely want to pick up some more colours.
NYX Glitter Goals Liquid Lipstick
I’ve been obsessed with the Ciate Glitter Flip lipsticks since I received 3 of them for my birthday last year. So, when I saw these Glitter Goals liquid lipsticks I had to try them! I chose the shade Reflector which is a deep, shocking pink and oh my Lord it is beautiful! It doesn’t last as well as the Soft Matte Lip Creme but it is so stunning and really makes a statement. I feel like this shade will be perfect for the summer months.
Rimmel London Wonder Swipe Eyeliner
While browsing Superdrug I also came across the Rimmel London Wonder Swipe Eyeliners which looks so pretty. I swatched a whole bunch of them and decided on the shade Instafamous which is a bright gold colour. My mother also couldn’t resist these and bought Cool AF which is the navy blue shade.
The Ordinary Salicylic Acid
The Ordinary has been raved about for so long and I’ve been wanting to try something for ages but actually choosing a product can be pretty overwhelming. There’s a lot of big words to understand! I had no idea what half of the products did but after doing some research, with the help and recommendations of a friend, I finally managed to choose some things. I got the Salicylic Acid which is meant to be a great daily treatment for blemishes. I’ve only started using this so haven’t seen a difference yet but I can definitely feel it doing something when I apply it.
The Ordinary Niacinamide
I also got the Niacinamide (see, big word!) which claims to reduce the appearance of skin blemishes and pores. I’ve struggled with acne since I was 10 years old, so for the last 16 years. I’ve been on multiple different pills and had multiple treatments to no avail. The only thing that’s ‘curing’ it is time. It’s been getting a lot better as I get older so I’m now using both this serum and the Salicylic Acid to help completely clear my skin (hopefully) and reduce any future breakouts. I want to try whatever I can to ensure my skin is as perfect as possible for my wedding next year.
The Ordinary Azelaic Acid
Lastly, I got the Azelaic Acid which is a gel that helps improve the appearance of acne scars. As mentioned previously after suffering from acne for 16 years I have quite a bit of scarring. More scarring than actual acne now which is a blessing. I’m really hoping this can help reduce the marks and will be using it both morning and night after the Salicylic Acid and the Niacinamide. If you’ve used any of these products to help treat/control acne let me know in the comments how you got on with them!
Beauty Bay EYN Berry Palette
As I am signed up to the Beauty Bay Tribe point system I realised that I had acclaimed enough points to get myself the 9 colour Berry Palette for free! I was so excited for this as I currently own the Bright 42 palette and love it. I’m normally not drawn to neutral palette’s but the shimmer shades really caught my eye and it was free so I literally had nothing to lose! I will have a full review of this palette plus some mini tutorials going up next week so keep your eyes peeled for that!
I hope you all enjoyed this beauty haul. Let me know if you own any of the products mentioned. Don’t forget to subscribe to my blog while you’re here. You can also follow me on Instagram, Twitter and Pinterest too. Thanks for reading!
