Packaging

As with every Charlotte Tilbury product, the packaging for the Airbrush Flawless Foundation is beautiful. It comes encased in a pretty weighted frosted glass bottle with the Charlotte Tilbury classic rose gold lid, text and logo on the front. It both looks and feels so luxurious! This foundation bottle also had a pump which makes it very easy to dispense and ensures you get the most out of this product. I was really impressed with the design of the packaging, it’s definitely the prettiest foundation bottle I’ve ever owned.

First Impressions

I ordered this foundation online which is always a risky move, but with the help of Findation.com, I was luckily able to order my perfect colour match!

The consistency of the Airbrush Flawless Finish foundation was a lot thinner and runnier than I’m used to. I was a little worried it wasn’t going to be as full coverage as I was hoping for. Before applying this foundation I used my Smashbox Pore Minimizing Primer as I normally would and then used 1 pump of the foundation to start with. It applied really nicely to my skin and blended out easily, covering the majority of my scarring and blemishes.

I did end up using a second pump for extra coverage and it was easy to build. It felt pretty nice albeit a little tacky and didn’t have any kind of scent to it. Once it was applied I set it with the RCMA No Colour Powder as I always do. I was really happy with the results at first, it definitely made my skin look flawless and poreless…until a few hours in.

The Problems

Very quickly it started to feel extremely heavy and greasy. I have oily to combination skin and this foundation claims to give a natural matte finish which is what I would tend to go for. I’m used to wearing full-coverage foundations and this one has been one of the only ones where I’ve really felt it on my face.

I applied the foundation around 7am and around 12pm it had worn off in several places, even in places where I hadn’t touched my skin, was looking very shiny and I’m pretty certain it had oxidised a little bit. By 6pm my pores were very prominent as were my smile lines and it looked so cakey. It was not a good look!

I’ve tried this foundation with several different primers and moisturisers but nothing I try makes it stay on for more than a few hours. I absolutely hate how this foundation makes my skin look, I don’t think I’ve ever tried a foundation that’s made me look this bad and honestly I am so disappointed.

No makeup face

No makeup – as you can see I have quite a bit of scarring I want to cover up.

Shortly after I finished applying my makeup. The foundation looked great to start with and my skin really was poreless. (I have not used Facetune on any of these pictures).

At the end of the day. The foundation had worn off so much and I looked incredibly cakey.

Overall Thoughts

I really wanted to like this foundation as I love so many other Charlotte Tilbury products but it did not work for my skin AT ALL! The pictures above really speak for themselves…my face at the end of the day was an absolute mess.

My friend happened to buy a new foundation at the same time, the Too Faced Born This Way Foundation which coincidentally she hated too. So, as we’re the same shade, we’ve done a foundation swap. Strangely enough, the Born This Way foundation works really well for me and the Airbsurh Flawless Finish Foundation works really well for her so neither one will be wasted.

It goes without saying I will never repurchase this foundation again. For me, it is the furthest away from an airbrush flawless finish!

Oh man this is disappointing. The bottle does look super luxurious and beautiful? I got a small sample bottle of a different CT foundation and it looked amazing, natural etc in the morning then became a oil slick and oxidised. I ended up hating it? x

It’s so disappointing, I really wanted to love it. ? Oh really? Well at least you managed to get a sample haha. I’ve tried the other one too but it’s too lightweight for me. ??‍♀️

Aaw see I only use lightweight foundations, but the CT one just looks cakey, patchy and gross after a while. It is a shame as I use her powder, concealer etc x

Aww no, foundation nightmare! Sorry this didn’t work for you but sounds like a win win being able to swap with your friend and getting the Too Faced? Would be interested to read a post similar to this about that one x

I’m so sad that this didn’t work for you! For the price of this foundation I would expect it to be amazing 🙁

That’s so disappointing! You’d think it would be amazing quality considering it is so expensive. At least it won’t go to waste xx

I know I’m so upset about it, I tried so many different variations of applying it too but always ended up with the same result! Everything else I’ve tried from Charlotte Tilbury has been amazing so I had such high hopes. ? xx

Thanks for your review, I had exactly the sameExperience with it. It looks gorgeous when I first put it on, but awful by the end of the day, sitting in pores , cakey lines and very patchy. Just awful
