The packaging for the Dior Happy 2020 Party in Colours palette is very sleek. The palette comes in a black pouch, keeping it protected and scratch-free. Small and compact the jet black packaging simply has the Dior logo on the front. It’s a very classy looking palette in my opinion. The enclosure is nice and secure, clicking shut so there’s no chance of it popping open in your bag. The whole thing fits perfectly in the palm of your hand and comes with a couple of little brushes and includes a mirror, making it very travel-friendly.

First Impressions

When I first opened up the palette my first thought was ‘wow’! I loved the colour combination, they were such bright, vibrant shades that I couldn’t wait to use, especially for New Year’s Eve. Immediately I was browsing Pinterest and Instagram for ideas and inspiration.

The shades all swatched beautifully and I was very impressed. From the swatches, the green and gold shade were the two I wanted to use the most. When creating looks with this palette I didn’t notice any fallout whatsoever which surprised me. The shades were all buttery and smooth, applying really easily on my eyes. While there are no matte shades in this palette this wasn’t an issue initially as all the shades blend really well together and looked amazing. In the future, though I most likely will be using matte shades from other palettes and then using the shades in this palette for the centre of my lid or a bright inner corner.

Despite knowing I probably won’t ever use the two mini brushes that came with the palette, I thought it was a nice touch adding them in there.

Mini Tutorials

I’ve created 3 bright and bold looks using only the Dior Happy 2020 Party in Colours palette! I’m really happy with how all 3 looks came out and wore them all over the New Year’s period.

Look 1

This is the look I wore on New Year’s Eve. I really wanted to try and create something using all 5 shades in the palette and loved how it came out. First I applied the pink shade in the inner corner, then applied the gold to the centre of the lid and blended that in with the green shade. I used the blue shade for my lower lash line and added a pop of silver to the centre of my inner corners.

Look 2

For my second look, I used the pink shade for the first half of my eye and blended this with the blue shade. This created a lovely purple blend into the blue for the outer corners.

Look 3

The third and final look gave me some serious Slytherin vibes, which coincidentally is my house! Using the silver shade for the inner corners, toward the centre of my lid and then blending it with the stunning green shade.

Side note: I don’t know why the green shade looks different here than the first look. I can only put it down to the lighting or the different blend of colours used.

Final Thoughts

Overall I’ve had a lot of fun playing with this palette and loved all the looks I’ve created with it. The shades are all so pretty and it feels very sleek and luxurious. I think this is a palette that I’ll only use on special occasions as it is a limited edition and was very pricey.

While it’s not exactly a palette that you would need, it was definitely perfect for New Years and the start of 2020. It added a lot of colour and vibrancy into my look and the beginning of the year! It’s a very special palette that I’m thrilled to now have in my collection.

I hope you all enjoyed my review of the Dior Happy 2020 Party in Colours palette! Let me know in the comments if you have this palette too and which look is your favourite. Such a pretty little palette! Love all the bold looks you created but the last two are my favourites! The silver would also blend so nicely with the pink and blue to make slightly more cooler toned looks x
