Glossybox February 2021
Glossybox February 2021
The Glossybox February 2021 theme was, unsurprisingly, all about love and came in a fabulous looking retro cassette tape style box. As January’s box was such a huge hit for me I was very much looking forward to receiving this one. With 5 full-sized products in this box, there were some real gems that I’ve really enjoyed using. Here’s everything that was included in the February box:
Avant Skincare Perfecting Rose Sugar Lip Scrub
This product is probably my favourite thing out of the box this month. Although I was shocked when I found out it costs £58! I could never justify buying a lip scrub at that price point, despite the fact I’ve used this product every day since receiving it and really enjoy it. With ingredients such as rose, peony and almond, this lip scrub claims to leave you with super soft lips. As my lips are super dry right now it’s been a sweet relief applying this to them every morning. Plus, it smells incredible so that helps too. I’ve never tried anything from Avant before. But, I know it’s a brand that features quite often in Glossyboxes so I’m definitely intrigued to try more from them.
Bubble T Hand Cream Peach Bellini
Honestly, I don’t really use hand creams often as my hands don’t tend to get dry. So, this wasn’t a product I was particularly excited for. But, it is still very nice to use occasionally and smells fresh, fruity and uplifting. Retailing for £4.99, this product contains Aloe Vera extract and moisturising shea butter so it’s great for nourishing your hands in winter. I may actually give this to my husband as he always has dry hands and would benefit from it more than I would.
Steve Laurant Total Repair Lip Mask
I swear, until this month I had never heard of a lip mask before and now suddenly I own several, one from this box and two more from a PR package. They couldn’t have come at a better time though with how cracked my lips currently are. I haven’t used this one yet but I’m very much looking forward to trying it out soon. The mask retails for £5 and claims to bring a burst of hydration to your lips and instantly soothe and revitalise them, leaving them feeling soft and smooth.
Glow-On-5th Rose Gua Sha
The Rose Gua Sha caused quite the controversy this month! And I was pretty confused when I saw it. I honestly had no idea what it was or what it was for initially. Stone-based Gua Shas are supposed to have loads of benefits for your skin and can help to soothe it. But, rather than the rose quartz Gua Sha everyone was expecting, what arrived was a piece of hard plastic.
Obviously, people were pretty disappointed and it was something that I was unlikely to use anyway. Apparently, this facial massage tool can help to relieve tight muscles, flush lymphatic drainage and increase blood flow and circulation, resulting in radiant, youthful skin. I’m not sure how much of that I really believe as, essentially, it is just a small piece of pink plastic. Retailing for £10 this is the first product I’ve received in a Glossybox that I was disappointed with.
Nudestix Gel Colour Lip and Cheek Balm Siren
Lastly, we received a Nudestick Gel lip and cheek balm in a gorgeous red shade worth £20! I was so excited to get this as I love a red lip and it’s such a beautiful, bold colour. It seems easy to use and highly pigmented which is great and is apparently packed with skin-protecting plant oils and vitamin E for extra hydration. I haven’t really had the opportunity to use this product yet. When I leave the house I’m usually just off to Tesco wearing a mask and I don’t really wear lipstick when I’m just lounging around at home. But, when the time comes I’m definitely excited to give it a go and see what it’s really like.
Total value of box: £97.99
Overall, this was a great box with some fantastic products inside. There were a couple of disappointing products/products I probably won’t use. But, the majority was super exciting to get and I’m already looking forward to the March box where I know we’ll be receiving a mascara.
