Glossybox January 2021
Glossybox January 2021
After months of debating about it, I finally took the plunge and signed up to Glossybox for January 2021! For those who may not, Glossybox is a very popular, monthly beauty subscription box. Every month, a box will be delivered to your filled with 4 full-sized products and 1 deluxe sample product. It’s a great way of testing out new things that you may never have thought to try before and it’s very exciting knowing you have a box of beauty treats on the way every month. I signed up to the 12-month plan, it costs £11.75 a month and you’re always guaranteed to have a box worth at least £50 in products so it’s definitely good value for money.
The Glossybox January 2021 theme was the ‘power of beauty’. As January is a month where, typically, our skin struggles in the cold, harsh weather, Glossybox selected products to help keep our skin fresh and pure. Here’s what I got in my box this month:
MUDMASKY Serum Infused Eye Mask
I was very much looking forward to using this product as I’ve never really used an eye mask before and as I’m turning the big 3-0 next year, it’s probably about time I did haha. I’ve used this a couple of times and have really enjoyed it so far. It feels very refreshing and cooling under my eyes. This mud eye mask is specially formulated for the under-eye area and enriched with natural antioxidants. It’s a very gentle product that claims to improve the elasticity under the eyes, as well as brighten the skin and reduce the appearance of fine lines. This product was actually a replacement for a Rose Gua Sha which Glossybox struggled to get hold of. And, honestly, I’m much happier with this product so it was a win for me. We received the full-size version of the product which retails for £44.
Ecooking Moisturising Serum
Apparently perfect for all skin types and ages, the Ecooking Moisturising Serum gives you skin a much-needed hydration boost, perfect for the winter months. It claims to not only add moisture to the skin, but help to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, ensuring your skin looks youthful and radiant. I haven’t actually tried this one out yet but I am very intrigued by it and excited to give it a go. We got a deluxe mini sample of this product which is 10ml and worth £22.50.
Eyeko London Liquid Eyeliner
Okay so this product I was a little confused about as, from what I’ve seen, no one else got it? It wasn’t advertised as being in this box at all. Instead, I was supposed to get an eyebrow gel, but to be honest, I’ll take the eyeliner over a brow gel any day haha. I’ve used this a couple of times and have been pretty impressed with it. It was easy to use and I was able to create a dramatic wing with no problem. Plus, it stayed on pretty much all day, just smudging a little underneath. after about 8/9 hours wear. I got the full-size version of the product which retails for £16.
Beauty Pro Avocado Infused Sheet Mask
I was very happy to see a sheet mask included in this box and this one definitely didn’t disappoint. Nourishing, hydrating and infused with avocado, this mask is meant to leave your skin feeling soft, smooth and utlra-fresh while also reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. After using this mask my skin definitely felt super soft, the intense hydration was very much needed! We received one mask in the box which retails for £4.95 and I would 100% buy this product individually.
Daily Concepts Reusable Rounds
I’ve been looking recently at getting reusable makeup remover pads so this was great timing! I’m currently just finishing using my current cotton pads before trying these out. You get two pads included in the packet which are perfect for face cleansing, removing makeup and can be washed and reused over and over. Which, obviously helps minimise your eco-footprint and saves you money in the long-run. These pads retail for £6.80.
This month we actually got a 6th, bonus product in the box which was some hand sanitiser. While not the most exciting product, in these times it’s always handy and won’t be going to waste! Even before the pandemic really hit, while I was working in London I’d always carry hand-sanitiser with me to use on the train or in the office. I’d seen SO many people complaining about receiving this product in their box which I really didn’t understand, it was a complete freebie and a pretty useful item. This particular hand-sanitiser is also apparently great for sensitive skin which is ideal. We got the full-sized product which retails for £2.72.
Total value of box: £96.97
Overall, I was super impressed with this box and will be using everything in it. I think my favourite products were the eye mask and the sheet mask. For my first ever Glossybox it was definitely a success and I can’t wait for February’s box!
