To be completely honest 2019 has not been great so far. It’s been bad news after bad news for me. I’m majorly stressed, which could be down to the fact I almost got fired last week because my boss doesn’t like my personality, I’m crying all the time and other things just aren’t going in the right direction, or fast enough. Anyway, I felt like I needed to really treat myself. To buy all the high-end makeup I’d been eyeing up for a little while but couldn’t justify. I swear retail therapy is a legitimate thing!
RCMA No Colour Powder
Okay so I wouldn’t call this product high-end but it was the only thing I actually needed. That’s how this impulsive online shopping therapy started actually. I was on Beauty Bay, adding my holy grail powder to my basket when more items fell in and other makeup websites opened up. It was just a downward spiral from there really. Seriously though this powder is amazing, it’s the only one I ever use and it lasts me a good five months at a time!
Anastasia Beverly Hills Pro Series Contour Kit
I’ve been wanting a new contour kit for a few months now. My beloved Kat Von D Shade and Light palette is looking a little worse for wear. Plus with all the controversy surrounding her at the minute, I don’t feel quite right using her makeup, even though I love the stuff.
To me, contouring products always seem pretty boring to buy but I’m glad I splashed out on this. I haven’t used it a lot yet but the shades look perfect and it blends into my skin so well. It also looks like the pans are replaceable which is extremely handy, although I can’t find anywhere to actually buy them at the moment.
Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush
After I was finished on Beauty Bay I headed over to Cult Beauty, somewhere I’ve never actually bought from before. Immediately I was drawn to hourglass and realised how bored I was with my current blushers. I bought the Ambient Lighting Blush in the shade ‘Mood Exposure’ and oh my gosh it is STUNNING! The packaging is beautiful and luxurious and the product is so pretty. I gasped a little the first time I used it. I’m completely in love with this blusher.
Huda Beauty Gemstone Obsessions Palette
For about half a year now I’ve been considering getting a Huda Beauty eyeshadow palette. I’m not good at making my own decisions, can you tell? Buying this palette actually annoyed me a little. It was on sale for about £15 but, as I’ve just mentioned, because I’m a bad decision maker I decided to sleep on it. The next day it was back up to the full £25. Anyway, I still bought it and I don’t regret it one bit. I haven’t had a chance to properly play with it but the colours are amazing and they swatch really nicely. It is teeny tiny though!
Huda Beauty Ruby Obsessions Palette
I think this product was the one I was most excited for. The second I saw it I had to have it. The colours just really drew me in! When it arrived I made what my mother calls a ‘happy Hollie sound’, which is a mix between a squeal, a gasp and a sob. It is beautiful and I can’t wait to create some looks with it!
So that’s everything I got. Luckily it’s payday this week and at the moment I do still have my job haha. Conveniently payday falls on the day I’ll be Chelsea too….uh oh.
I hope you all enjoyed this high-end makeup haul. Do you own any of these products? Do you overspend when you’re feeling down? Let me know so I don’t feel as guilty!
