Last month I received a couple of samples of the Lancome Teint Idole Foundation. I had seen Nikki Tutorials use this quite a bit and we have very similar tastes when it comes to foundation so I thought I had to try it out for myself. I got through the samples pretty quickly and was impressed with how it had performed so decided to buy the full sized product which I am reviewing for you all today!

I love the frosted glass packaging. It feels sturdy and luxurious with a gold rose embossed on the lid giving it an extra special touch. The pump is easy to use, doesn’t get messy and dispenses a good amount of product. Overall it feels pretty heavy and expensive which is a big plus for me. Admittedly I am a bit of a snob when it comes to makeup, while I do use drugstore products I definitely prefer high end and will happily spend £32 on a foundation because the packaging looks good.
It was a good consistency, not too liquidy but also not mousse-like and it applied quite nicely. I first applied it with a brush but found it was quite streaky and hard to blend, so I would definitely recommend using a beauty blender for this foundation. The shade 008 Beige Opale was matched to me but I honestly I thought it was a little pale, it’s fine for now but in the summer I will definitely need a slightly darker shade.
I wouldn’t call this a full coverage foundation, it’s more medium but it builds up really well without feeling heavy and helped to even out my skin tone. It is ultra matte which is perfect for me, although with it being winter I do have a couple of dry patches on my forehead and nose and it does cling to those, so if you have predominantly dry skin then this wouldn’t work for you.
The thing that made in fall in love with this foundation is the lasting power. I get up at 6am for work and don’t usually get home until around 6pm. While I can’t comment on the 24 hour claim, I can say for sure that it lasts the full 12 hours I wear it and still stays like 95% matte! I don’t touch it up or re-powder during the day and by the end it still looks pretty good and feels lightweight which is super impressive. I also haven’t noticed any transfer onto my clothes when I’ve worn it, but nearer the end of the day where I’ve touched my face in places, it has smudged a little.
Overall I am really happy with this foundation and it has become a staple in my everyday routine. It’s perfect for work as it lasts all day and I don’t have to worry about how it looks or touching it up at all. I love how ultra matte it is and yet it doesn’t look cakey or unnatural I would definitely buy it again, just in a darker shade. I don’t think the bottle will last me very long as personally, I need to use about 3 pumps to get the coverage I’m happy with, so it could get quite expensive but it is something I’m willing to pay out. If you have oily skin then I would 100% recommend you try this foundation!
I hope you enjoyed this review! Have you tried the Lancome Teint Idole Foundation? What were your thoughts on it?
