Lush Cosmetic Warrior Face Mask Review

September 23, 2017

I’m no stranger to Lush face masks and so far the ones I’ve tried haven’t really done much for me. I hear so many good reviews  though that I was determined to find one that I could rave about. Here it is, the Cosmetic Warrior. I chose this one because the sales assistant recommended it to me after I told her which face masks I had used before and what my problem areas were. Side note, aren’t the Lush employees always so friendly and helpful? I literally always walk out feeling like I’ve just made a bunch of friends who have my best interests at heart.

From the website:

Combats troublesome spots, cleanses and cools the skin. A gentle and balancing fresh face mask with antibacterial tea tree and fresh garlic working together to cleanse. Fresh green grapes clean and cool the skin, whilst free range eggs tighten its texture and antimicrobial honey leaves it soft and moisturised.

My Review:

I have struggled with acne since I was eleven years old, that’s thirteen long years. I’ve tried all the medications, treatments, ‘miracle’ skin products, but to no avail. As I’m getting older I am noticing that it is getting better with only a few breakouts in specific areas rather than my entire face, but it has left me with a lot of scarring. I am very self-conscious about my skin and have never gone out in public without foundation. My boyfriend of six years has also never seen me without makeup on.

Since Cosmetic Warrior is supposed to target the blemishes, and it was recommend, I thought there was no harm in giving it a go but I didn’t have high expectations of it clearing my skin. The first thing I noticed when I opened the pot was the smell. A lot of people seem to be put off by it as it smells very strongly of tea tree oil and garlic but in all honesty it didn’t really bother me. To me it smelled fresh, clean and like most of the skin care products I use, since I pretty much only use tea tree oil.

I applied a pretty generous layer all over my skin and waited for 15-20 minutes, which is a bit longer than it says. It felt a bit like clay on my skin and as time went on it got increasingly more difficult to move my face.

Is anyone able to actually take a picture of themselves wearing a face mask without it looking horrendous? I’d love to know haha.

I washed the mask off with warm water and noticed my skin felt very smooth and soft. It was also very sightly tingly which was a good sign since it meant it was doing some good to my skin. So far I liked what the mask did and how it felt but I didn’t notice any immediate improvement of my skin.

Over the next couple of days I saw that my breakouts were smaller and my skin didn’t look as red. I used the mask again with the same results, not seeing any immediate difference, but after a few more days I was completey blown away.

My skin is currently the clearest it’s ever been. I may have even shed a little tear as I woke up and saw in the mirror that my cheeks were completely clear and the blemishes on my chin were getting smaller and smaller. It’s been so long since I’ve felt happy with how my skin looked that it was a little overwhelming.

This picture was taken about five to ten minutes after I’d woken up, something I never thought I’d do! I don’t have a before picture but trust me, it was pretty bad. You can see some of the left over scarring but my face is practically blemish free after only two uses!

I am very happy with how well Cosmetic Warrior has worked and I’m very excited to use it again. This mask is £7.50 and you could get between 4-6 uses out of it which I think is good value for money. By the time you’re reading this I have already bought another one ready for when I run out. I imagine this a product I will always use whenever I get a breakout.

Honestly I can’t believe that I’ve finally found something that has helped clear my skin up. I very highly recommend Cosmetic Warrior if you have acne prone skin. Hopefully it will work wonders on your skin like it did on mine. I finally feel like I’d be confident enough to take my makeup off when my boyfriend visits next which is a HUGE deal.

If you’ve used this face mask then let me know in the comments,I would love to hear what you think! Don’t forget to subscribe to my blog and follow me on Instagram and Twitter to keep up to date. Thanks for reading!
