Makeup Anti-Haul 3

Makeup Anti-haul 3

I can’t believe it’s been a year since my last makeup anti-haul! So many new products have come and gone since then but there was one launch in particular that inspired me to write another anti-haul. Bet you can’t guess what it is!

Colourpop x Zoella Brunch Date

Okay, so I am not a fan of Zoella. I used to be when I was 16/17 but like with many Youtuber’s I outgrew her. Her content is dull, from what I’ve seen she never does anything original or exciting and she’s a total sell-out.

When I found out she was collaborating with Colourpop to bring out a makeup range my first thought was ‘why?’ What talent has she actually brought to the makeup community? Needless to say, I wasn’t expecting much and then I saw the Brunch Date palette. This is without a doubt the most boring palette I’ve ever laid my eyes on! What were they thinking? It’s varying shades of brown, some with shimmers and a random pop of blue. No. Just no. The palette is about as exciting as she is. I also hate the packaging of all the Colourpop x Zoella collab, it looks like kids makeup you can get in Claire’s Accessories. I will be staying far away from this launch and any other makeup product the severely overrated YouTuber releases.

Urban Decay Naked Reloaded Palette

I love Urban Decay and own many of their Naked Palettes but this one just doesn’t do it for me. The colours don’t excite me at all. There’s nothing that really stands out and the swatches they released were pretty disappointing. This palette has been compared to the ABH Sultry Palette, which I own and love, and while the colours are fairly similar the Sultry palette excites me way more than this one. The colours seem to pop more in Sultry whereas they seem quite dull and ashy in Reloaded.

I understand that this palette is an updated version of the original Naked palette but what I don’t understand is why they needed to do that? Why could they have not just kept the original palette? I’m sure there’s a reason behind it all, I just don’t get it.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Highlighter Pigment

Honestly, I would get in such a glittering mess with this. I don’t understand why loose highlighter needs to be a thing, am I missing something? I know its meant to be buildable so you can wear it either subtly or go super intense with it but I still don’t think it needs to be a thing, especially with pressed powder and liquid highlighters. While the packaging is very pretty and while I adore glitter, I just don’t see myself investing in or using these.

Nars Mosaic Glow Blush

I know this is a really hyped up product in the beauty industry, I’ve only heard good things about it but I really don’t like the look of it. It seems so impractical and I’m not a fan of the design. There’s no way I could use each shade individually and I think swirling my brush around in all 3 shades would look like a muddy mess on my face. Obviously, I know you’re supposed to use them all together and many people seem to make it work, I just don’t think it would work for me.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Daytime and Sunset Eyeshadow Quad

When I first heard about these quads I was excited and then I saw them and sadly was not blown away. The Daytime quad has 4 brand new shades which honestly are very similar to other shades I have in other ABH palettes, so I don’t feel like I’m missing out on anything there or need to spend £33 on 4 warm/bronze shades.

The Sunset quad has 3 new shades and then the popular Birkin shade. It’s just another quad with brown shades and a duo-chrome blue. Definitely not the most exciting releases and nothing we haven’t all seen before so I’ll be skipping these products.

I agree with ALL of these! I’m so disappointed by that ColourPop Zoella collection. The packaging is childish and the palette is so boring.
I hate loose pigments of any kind, whether they be eyeshadow, highlighters, etc. I’m so accident prone that they’re bound to be dropped at some point and get all over my carpet. Not fun!

They could’ve chosen someone so much more creative for the collab considering what a bold, fun brand they are! Ugh yes I would get that highlighter everywhere, I use a loose powder and my entire makeup desk is always covered in it. Definitely not designed with the accident prone in mind haha.

I guess they hoped that Zoellas 12 million followers would all buy it ? I get it from a business perspective but I’m still disappointed.

I keep dropping my Coty airspun powder, I’m glad it doesn’t have any shimmer because I know it would be a disaster to clean up!

Nodding my head in agreement over here lol!! The new Naked palette looks so boring! I love Urban Decay too (including the original Naked palette), but I’m gonna pass on trying it out. Also, the ColourPop Zoella collection shades all look the same to me!!

Awesome post, girl! I love reading your anti-hauls!! x

I really wish they’d just kept the original palette, there was no need for it to be updated. Yup, just 11 shades of brown and a random blue, it’s so bad haha and not surprising it hasn’t been hyped up at all. Thanks so much for reading! ? x

I wasn’t expecting a whole lot from the Zoella collab either but it is so uninteresting, even the eyeliners are just boring normal shades. Nothing about it is fun.

Yeah I wasn’t expecting a lot either but was still surprised at how dull it all was. Considering it’s Colourpop I definitely thought it’d be more fun.
