My Foundation Wishlist

Blog post

Lately, I have been on the hunt for the perfect foundation. Currently, I use the Kat Von D Lock It foundation which I love and have never had a problem with, but I’m still looking for something better, something that is full coverage, matte, will last a long time and make my skin look incredible for my wedding day. So, here is my foundation wishlist of everything I want to try!

Too Faced Born This Way

Achieve ‘I woke up like this’ levels of flawless with the iconic Born This Way Foundation from Too Faced. Offering medium-to-full, undetectable coverage, the oil-free formula features moisture-restoring coconut water, brightening alpine rose and hydrating hyaluronic acid, nourishing skin as it creates a seamless finish. With 35 versatile shades to choose between – from Porcelain to Cocoa – you’ll be sure to fool everyone into thinking you were born this way.

I’ve never actually tried anything from Too Faced before but so many people rave about this foundation that I’m now dying to get my hands on it. I know it’s a lot of beauty gurus favourite and I believe it’s been worn by many brides on their wedding day.

Estée Lauder Double Wear

The UK’s No. 1 Foundation.* 24-hour staying power. Flawless all day. This worry-free, long-wearing makeup stays fresh and looks natural through heat, humidity and nonstop activity. It feels lightweight and comfortable and won’t change colour, smudge or come off on clothes. Now the flawless look you see in the morning is the look you keep all day.

I am beyond late to this party. I used to use the Double Wear Maximum Cover foundation but I have never tried the original Double Wear and hear so many people rave about it. Once my current foundation runs out I will most likely pick up this one to try next.

Hourglass Vanish Seamless Finish Liquid

Uniting beauty and science with luxury, you can rely on this seamless, simply sublime range for a miraculous addition to your make up kit – and this reinvention of the most-loved {Vanish Seamless Finish Foundation Stick} delivers instant full coverage with just half a pump. No primer needed, this innovative formula is completely weightless, feeling like a second skin that provides a smooth and flawless complexion. Available in 32 shades, this highly concentrated foundation benefits from light-refracting microspheres to help blur and create a soft-focus dewy complexion.

I loved the stick version of this foundation but had a couple of little issues with oiliness throughout the day. So, I really want to try the liquid version to see if the formula is any different or works better. It’s definitely an expensive foundation and not something I can justify buying right now, especially with the mixed reviews it has. However, I will 100% try this out for myself within the next year.

Fenty Beauty Pro Filt’r

Pro Filt’r Soft Matte Longwear Foundation gives skin an instantly smooth, pore-diffused, shine-free finish that easily builds to medium to full coverage. The oil-free formula is made with climate-adaptive technology that’s resistant to sweat and humidity, and won’t clog pores so that wherever you are, it’s going to work on your skin. Best of all, this long-wearing, light-as-air texture is undetectable on skin – so you always look like you.

Honestly, I’m not really a fan of the whole Fenty Beauty line. There’s nothing there that has ever appealed to me…apart from the foundation. With a huge range of shades and claims that it gives you a smooth, poreless, matte finish, it seems to be just what I’m looking for. I’d definitely like to try it and see if it really is worth the hype.

When the reigning queen of online beauty turned her hand to complexion products, we were expecting a lot. This utterly flawless, full-coverage foundation does not disappoint. Proudly inclusive, Huda Beauty’s 30-strong shade range embraces and celebrates all skin tones. What’s more, the long-lasting matte finish formula is packed with perfecting, blemish-blurring pigments to keep your face looking faultless.

This really sounds like it would be the perfect foundation! Full coverage, long-lasting and blemish blurring? Yes, please! It does have a lot of mixed reviews but I think it’s definitely worth a try. Plus it’s water-resistant, which is ideal in case there are any tears on my wedding day!

I’ve tried all of these foundations and my favourite is definitely FENTY, it gives great coverage without looking fake and their HUGE assortment of shades ensures you’ll find the right colour. The one foundation on thi list that i recommend you don’t waste your time with is Huda Beauty. I used to use it, because I hadn’t found anything better, but the formula is very thick and cakey, it just gives a very unnatural finish. But all the other foundations on this list are great and there’s a variety of finishes, textures and coverage levels, so you’ll definitely be able to find something you like! I hope you have an opportunity to try them, if you head into a Sephora they do give samples to take home, something to keep in mind!

Oh that’s good to know! Fenty is definitely toward the top of my list of ones I want to try pretty soon. That’s disappointing to hear about Huda, I know that foundation has a lot of mixed reviews and many people do say it’s very cakey, unfortunately I don’t live in a place where there’s a Sephora so getting samples of some of these will be difficult, but I’ll definitely try and get some department stores. ?

I know the Too Faced foundation is so many people’s favourite! It’s just scary trying something brand new haha. At the moment I am planning on doing it myself or getting my friend to do it on the day if I’m too nervous to function haha.
