Decorating for Christmas 2018

Decorating the house for Christmas is my favourite thing to do each year. Normally we gradually build the decorations up over a few weeks, but this year since we’re all working full time, we dedicated an entire Sunday to decorating! It was a long, stressful and tiring day but it was so worth it. Our decorations are definitely not to everyone’s taste but we love them. I love coming home from work and seeing all the bright, colourful decorations. It feels super cosy and festive to me.

In today’s post, I thought I’d share with you pictures of my over-the-top decorated house. I even filmed a little Christmas house tour which is at the end of this post!

Outside

This year we bought some candy cane lights to outside, we have very limited space at the front of our house but these fit perfectly! I love this new addition and think they look really fun and festive.

We also invested in a projector which project snowflakes onto the side of our house. I couldn’t get a good picture of this though so just use your imagination.

On the front door, of course, we have a wreath. I have a thing about wreaths, I love them so much and want to buy so many every year! This year I was good and we used the same one as we bought last year. I really like the wreath holder we have too, it’s so cute.

The Hallway

We really build the hallway up every year! I don’t remember how it started but every year it gets transformed into a magical snow forest, filled with sparkling snowflakes, snowballs and warm, comforting lights. This year we added a snowman on the door, a seal and some snow on the bannister and some pretty holographic hanging ceiling decorations to add to the magic!

The Living Room

The living room is the main event and is the room that always takes us the longest. It’s quite a magnificent room if I do say so myself. Again, it’s not to everyone’s taste. It’s bright and colourful and completely tacky but I wouldn’t have it any other way. I can’t be dealing with these perfectly designed and matching Christmas decorations, that’s just not what it’s about for us. I absolutely love how we’ve decorated our living room this year and it makes me so happy!

The Tree

Last but not least our tree. Our tree is filled with colourful, twinkling lights, tinsel (yes were are tinsel people) and ornaments we’ve collected over the years.

Aaw I love it. Those candy cane lights and the snowman on the door looks so good!😊 I tend to put very little up, I think I’ll bother more if I own a house. My baubles are all random unmatching oned from different countries xx

Thank you! We love the snowman addition. 😊 Yeah that’s understandable, when I get my own place it’ll be even more over the top haha. Ah that’s the best way of decorating the tree in my opinion, just a collection of random decorations that all have a memory attached. 😊 xx
