What I Got My Boyfriend For Christmas
As some of you may know my boyfriend and I have been in a long distance relationship for the past six years. This unfortunately means that we have never been able to spend a Christmas together. Instead we usually have a mini Christmas either a week or two before the actual day where we do all the typical Christmas activities. This year we decorated my house and the tree, had a mini Christmas eve meal with crackers and a board game, made a gingerbread house, visited Longleat and gave each other presents. So for this post I thought it’d be fun to show you all what I got my boyfriend for Christmas. If you are struggling for gift ideas then this could even be useful to you!
We had a budget of £150 each, and of course we both overspent but somehow it still came out pretty equal.
I have always done a Santa stocking for him as he no longer gets one from his family. Since I still get one from my mum he’s never done one for me but that will change when we move in haha.
This little set was adorable and he loves the smell of strawberries. It was only £4 so a great stocking filler and definitely something he can use.
Every year I get him something dinosaur related, even though I always tell myself I won’t. When I saw these pjs though I couldn’t resist, there were only a few left in his size on Asos so I ordered them pretty quick. They went down very well haha.
Just a giant tube full of Jaffa Cakes. Perfect for a stocking filler and who doesn’t love them?! These were in Tesco for only £3!
Every stocking needs a selection box. I got him a galaxy one since it’s his favourite chocolate.
The last chocolate related thing in his stocking was a Terry’s Chocolate Orange, again who doesn’t love these?
I was stuck on what calendar to get him, then I spotted this Alpaca one and it made me laugh so much! He thought it was weird at first but when I showed him the pictures on the back he agreed that it was hilarious and cute.
He has always been obsessed with basketball so this case was perfect!
The last thing in his stocking was a pair of cute, festive socks.
Under the Tree:
Under the tree he had a few more gifts from me and a couple from my mum and sister.
My mother bought him a blue Ted Baker Scarf which he had been wanting for a while.
My sister bought him Kalamazoo from Lush as he had briefly mentioned he wanted to try more things from there.
My sister also got him this cute, Gingerbread Chocolate Selector.
I got him the Scrubs box-set. It’s always been one of his favourite shows and recently he wanted to start watching it again but couldn’t find it on Sky or Netflix. I gave this to him extra early as we had to make a trip to Essex due to a family emergency, so I put the first season on in the car to cheer him up.
We’re both in our mid twenties now and like having cosy nights in watching TV, in other words we’re getting pretty damn old and can’t be bothered to go out drinking. So I got him this super soft, cosy dressing gown from M&S which he very happily wore for the rest of the evening.
Over the last couple years I’ve bought him ties for work that have fun, little animals printed on them and he really likes them. So I got him this adorable parrot tie that I found in TK Maxx, although I can’t find it online anywhere. Other ties have included Dogs wearing jumpers and Hare and Tortoises.
For his main present I got him an off road driving experience from Buy a Gift. I had previously bought him a super car driving experience for his 21st which he loved so I thought he’d really enjoy doing this. He was pretty excited when he saw what he would be doing so we’ll be arranging a date to do this possibly in the summer.
That’s everything I got for him. It feels weird that we’ve done our Christmas and aren’t shopping for each other anymore, but also pretty reliving because shopping for boys is STRESSFUL! Luckily it all went well and he liked everything he got. Unfortunately I ran out of time to take pictures of everything he got before he had to go back home, so individual item pictures came from their websites.
I hope you enjoyed this post and it gave you some inspiration! Tomorrow I’ll be posting what he got me for Christmas so stay tuned for that! Don’t forget to subscribe to my blog and to follow me on Instagram and Twitter too. I follow all bloggers back. Thanks for reading!
