Longleat Festival of Light
On Tuesday the 12th of December I went to the Longleat Festival of Light with my mum, sister and boyfriend. It was as amazing and magical as you would expect! We had been before, a couple years ago, where the theme was Chinese lanterns, and that was beautiful, so we were very excited when we saw that this years theme was fairy-tales. Longleat is one of my favourite places, there’s always so much to do and is great for both kids and big kids. They really went the extra mile this year to make things festive and unsurprisingly I took so many photos!
I loved walking around all the lanterns. It was so pretty and everyone was in awe. My personal favourites were Cinderella’s carriage and Little Red Riding Hood.
We’ve all done this maze too many times haha, it took us around 5/10 minutes to get to the middle and then another 5 minutes to find the exit. Still it’s always fun and I love the view from the platform in the middle.
By the time we got there, around 5pm, the animals were all asleep so we didn’t get to see many. However I did get to hold a snake, but still couldn’t convince anyone to allow me to have one as a pet haha. We also saw some owls which were adorable!
The main events of the evening was the 50ft singing tree. I would highly recommend going to the Festival of Light purely for tree show. Its incredible!
After the light show ended we went into the Christmas shop where I bought a really cute penguin decoration and then entered the mirror maze. Mirror mazes are hilarious. Of course I was that person who deliberately broke away from the group and completely confused my mother. I was standing right in front of her and she yelled ‘where are you? Is that you? are you real?’ while touching every mirror haha. We then went into the bat caves, another favourite activity of mine, but the bats were all hanging upside down sleeping soundly.
It’s days like these that make me consider starting a vlogging YouTube channel. I love taking pictures but I feel like it’s easier to convey things like the lanterns and the tree better in a video. Let me know in the comments if you think I should create a Youtube channel to vlog, alongside blogging, in the New Year! Would that be something you’d be interested in?
I hope you enjoyed this post! Longleat is fantastic place with something for everyone to enjoy. I could not recommend going enough. You can read my post about the Autumn Festival here. If you’ve already been to the Festival of Light or are going soon then I’d love to know! What did you think of it? Don’t forget to subscribe to my blog and follow me on Instagram and Twitter too. I will follow all bloggers back. Thanks for reading!
