Merry Christmas Eve!

I hope you’re all having a super fun-filled festive Christmas eve and have over-indulged on food as much as I have already haha. I’d love to know in the comments what you’ve all been up to today. What are some of your Christmas eve/Christmas day plans and traditions?

I started the day off with a festive bath using a Lush Bath Bomb. Definitely the most relaxing way to start the day. Then I made my famous chocolate cheesecake! I’ve been making this cheesecake every Christmas since I was about 13 years old haha. I’ve been tempted to share the recipe on here a few times but I’m too selfish. I like that I have a little secret recipe for the best cheesecake ever. Once the cheesecake was made Jaz and I then watched a couple of Christmas movies with plenty of snacks. This evening we’ll all be heading over to my gran’s house for a big meal, some games and just a fun festive night.

This month has been probably the busiest month of the year, which is no surprise really, but I’ve experienced so many new and wonderful things. Some of the highlights from December have been:

Les Miserables

Technically this was in November but it was the very last day and it rolled into the start of December. I’m a massive Les Mis fan, it’s been my favourite musical since I was about 16. All the way back in January it was announced that there was going to be a star-studded concert version of the musical in the Gielgud Theatre in London. With the likes of Michael Ball and Alfie Boe performing I knew I had to get tickets! It took 4 of us to try and get tickets and the site was incredibly busy and kept crashing but we managed to get them for the very last performance which is the one we all really wanted to see.

The show was absolutely fantastic. Seeing Alfie Boe perform as Jean Valjean and Michael Ball perform as Javert was an actual dream come true. Never in a million years did I think I’d ever be able to see that. We also got to see Matt Lucas as Thenardier and Carrie Hope Fletcher as Fantine. Not only was it one of my highlights of the month but it’s also up there with one of the best nights of my life. I literally cried with joy when listening to Alfie Boe singing Bring Him Home, no one does it as beautifully as he does.

Winter Wonderland

This year me, Jaz and a couple of friends all visited Winter Wonderland and had just the best time. The day started with Nutella crepes and ended with taking silly photos in an upside-down house. I love going to Winter Wonderland, it’s something I look forward to every year, especially the ice kingdom! It was so much fun and if you ever get the chance to go I definitely recommend it.

Christmas Wreath Making

I made my very own wreath from scratch this year and loved every minute of it! I was certain mine was going to be terrible and just fall apart as soon as I got it home but it actually turned out pretty well. Honestly, I was super proud of my wreath. Not only did it look festive but it smelled very wintery. I can 100% see myself making my own wreaths from now on.

Ice Bar

Jaz’s cousins very kindly bought me an ice bar experience for my birthday which we managed to book just before Christmas! Jaz and I had never done anything like this before so we were both very excited. It was definitely a fun experience and the cocktails were great!

Pantomine

The pantomime is one of my most beloved Christmas traditions. Every year, since I was 2 years old, my nan has taken me and then my sister too when she came along. It’s always such a fun, silly enjoyable experience and my mouth is always aching from smiling too much haha. This year’s panto was Snow White. I travelled all the way back down to somerset from Essex for this tradition and was not disappointed. We all had a great time and I’m already looking forward to next year’s show!
