The Ultimate Christmas Playlist!
Christmas music is the best kind of music, there’s no question about it! I tend to start listening to my Christmas playlist in July, just one or two songs here and there, and build up until it’s all I’m listening to in December. Christmas songs make me happy and upbeat and give me those warm, cosy feelings. I just love it!
I’ve created the ultimate Christmas playlist filled with my favourite songs that I love listening to every year to get in the festive mood.
Obviously I love all the songs on this playlist but there are some that I would consider as my all time favourite Christmas songs.
Merry Christmas Everyone, Shakin’ Stevens
This has been my favourite Christmas song for as long as I can remember! It’s so upbeat and cheery, it’s great to sing along and have a dance too and it gets me in the christmas spirit every time I listen to it.
Step into Christmas, Elton John
I love Elton John and his Christmas song is definitely one of the greatest in my opinion. Again, it’s uplifting, cheery and one that I always give myself a little pat on the back for whenever I manage to sing all the words right!
Feliz Navidad, Jose Feliciano
A couple of years ago Jaz and I went to Vienna in December and every morning, while we were getting ready to see the Christmas markets, we put on a random playlist to get ready to. This song came on every time and we loved it! Now every time I listen to it I think back to the amazing time we had in Vienna.
A Spaceman Came Travelling, Chris De Burgh
I love this song so much! It always reminds me of decorating the tree with the family as a child. Decorating the tree was always my favourite tradition. My dad and I would go out and choose the tree while my mum and sister brought all the decorations down and got them ready. Then we’d stick on a Christmas cd and spend the afternoon decorating. This song always used to come on and it was so cosy.
Hark! The Herald Angels Sing, Frank Sinatra
Of all the traditional choir/Christian Christmas songs this one is my favourite. We used to sing it in the Christmas services at primary school and it makes me think of going to midnight mass, which is a recent tradition of mine that I’ve been loving.
Do They Know It’s Christmas? Band Aid
Geldof at his best! (If you got that reference then 50 house points to you!) This is such a great song and an absolute Christmas classic. If you don’t sing this at the top of your voice at some point this month then you’re doing Christmas wrong.
What are your favourite Christmas songs? I’d love to know.
