Autumn/Winter Candle Collection

October 5, 2017

We are now well into my favourite season and the autumnal scents are coming out in full force. I love a scented candle, in fact I have a designated autumn candle cupboard in my house. Every time I open that cupboard I’m hit with pumpkin, cinnamon, cookies, cocktails and so many more. One of my favourite things about this time of year is getting those candles out and having the whole house smell warm, cosy and delicious. This candle collection may not be to everyone’s taste, but they are my personal favourites. I think you’ll see early on exactly which one I love the most.

1.) Caramel Pumpkin

I found this little gem at TK Maxx for £2.99! As I walked past the aisle I could smell this so strongly and had to go on a hunt for it. Despite it’s size it completely fills the room with it’s sweet, caramel pumpkin scent. It’s a gorgeous little candle and I can’t resist anything pumpkin scented.

2.) Cinnamon

I like cinnamon…quite a bit actually. As you can see I currently have 7 cinnamon candles in my collection, people keep on telling me not to buy more but do I listen? Nope. I can’t help myself, it’s my favourite candle and I can’t get enough of the spicy scent! It gives me such a warm, fuzzy feeling when it’s dark and rainy outside and I have a cinnamon candle lit.

3.) Gingerbread

This candle makes me want to bake. It is Christmas in a jar. It’s another very strong scented one which spreads through most of the house and is beautifully authentic. I only have the one candle from Wickford & Co but they’re super cheap and have a great range of autumn and winter scents that I may have to buy more of these.

4.) Winter Spice

I received this John Lewis candle for Christmas last year and it’s so beautiful that I’ve been too afraid to light it! I lit it a couple of times and while it isn’t a strong smell it very subtly brings the warm, spicy winter scent into your home. It’s such an aesthetically pleasing looking candle and is perfect for decoration, I’m just not ready to use it all up yet!

5.) Home Sweet Home

As you may be able to tell I’ve used this one a lot. Another primarily cinnamon scented candle that I use pretty much all year round as it’s not specifically a seasonal item. It’s not as strong smelling as the other cinnamon candle as it also has apple, nutmeg and other spices in. It’s warm, inviting and very homey, great for a cosy night in.

6.) Advent Calendars

The last two years my boyfriend has got me a Yankee Candle advent calendar (I’m really hoping he gets me another one this year!) Each day is so exciting as you get a little Christmas scented tea light or votive that you can light every day. I still have a few tea lights left over and some half used votive’s. Last year I arranged a few of the candles in the middle of the table while we were having Christmas dinner and the scents mixed so well together. I would highly recommend you either buy or ask for one of these calendars. You get to try out so many candles and they just look beautiful.

7.) Christmas Garland

This is my favourite Christmas scent. I discovered it as a tea light in the advent calendar and immediately went out to buy the large jar. It’s woodsy, fruity and smells just like a Christmas tree, so if you get fake trees but want the real smell then get this candle!

8.) Festive Cocktail

The last candle in my collection is Festive Cocktail which was released last Christmas.  It was one I had to buy as soon as I smelled it. It’s fruity and refreshing with cranberry and blackcurrant as it’s top scents. It’s perfect for autumn/winter evening and will leave the house smelling lovely.

That is everything in my collection so far. I’m going to try really hard to not buy anymore candles this year but I’m not sure if I’ll be able to resist, especially when Yankee Candle bring out their new festive range!

I hope you enjoyed this post, let me know in the comments if you own any of these candles or which autumn/winter scents are you favourite.
