Decorating for Halloween 2019
Decorating for Halloween is one of my favourite things to do in October. I get so excited when all the spooky decorations get pulled down from the attic. The last few years I’ve been slowly contributing to my Halloween decorations collection and now I think it’s pretty impressive. Of course, I will continue to add new bits into it every year! As I’m now living with Jaz and his family in their house this year, I’m definitely looking forward to decorating for Halloween and introducing them to my spooky ways haha.
Here’s how I’ve decorated for Halloween this year:
This is probably my favourite, cosiest part! In the bedroom window I hung my pumpkin garland I got from Laura Ashley last year with the pumpkin lights I bought from Asda this year in between. The window also has the majority of my autumn candles in. In the centre, there is a little spider web and hanging from the ceiling lights are some glitter spiders which I think looks really cool.
Of course, I have my glow in the dark skeleton on the wall next to my side of the bed, looking as sassy as ever!
I have these adorable skull fairy lights draped around the bedframe which I absolutely love and the spooky cat duvet set that I’m so obsessed with right now!
My cute little tinsel ‘Boo’ signs hangs on one of the wardrobe doors.
This witch lantern normally sits outside next to a pumpkin, but because I’m in a new area I don’t know very well I’ll be keeping it indoors this year, so there’s no risk of it getting stolen. I’m paranoid like that haha. Despite it being about £2 I love my little lantern and would actually be so upset it someone took it!
Lastly in the bedroom, I have this amazing picture which lights up and plays music, a cute ghost warning sign and my favourite pumpkin lights around the door frame. Honestly, Jaz’s room has improved massively since I’ve moved in haha.
My Trick or Treat cushion, which Gaston was a big fan of last year, now sits on the sofa in the living room.
The fireplace is looking the spookiest it’s ever looked! I’d really like to complete the look with some Halloween tinsel draped across it. The ghost lights are probably my favourite decoration I own, I think they’re just so cute. The large glitter pumpkin is my most recent decoration and was gifted to me by my mother as a little moving away present. The other ceramic pumpkin and the creepy looking cat sit on the opposite side of the fireplace near the TV.
Their living room has a huge bay window much to my delight as it gives me loads of space to fill up with spooky decorations! So, I have my trick or treat candle which definitely smells like a treat. Along with my Halloween snow globe that I love so much, a spooky black cat and a black glitter pumpkin!
Those are all decorations I have managed to put up this year. There are few more that need to be hung from the ceiling but 1. I can’t do that myself as the ceilings are too high, even while standing on a chair and 2. I don’t think Jaz’s dad would appreciate me sticking pins in the ceiling haha.
Overall I think the house looks suitably spooky now and I definitely feel a lot cosier and happier in it. Of course on Halloween, there will also be a couple of pumpkins sitting outside the front door. Stay tuned for my pumpkin carving post coming up soon!
