It’s finally arrived and I hope you’re all having a wonderfully spooky day. Let me know what you’re doing to celebrate in the comments. I’ve been at work all day, but wearing a jumper with cobwebs on the elbows, very spooky. Tonight the pumpkins are out, my house is looking scary and I’ll be handing out sweets to trick or treaters. I can’t wait to see all the costumes, it makes my day when I see the parents have gone all out and dressed up too. If I wasn’t working tomorrow I’d definitely be having a horror movie night. Instead, I’ll be watching an episode of either the Haunting of Hill House or The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina and then The Apprentice. Wild night I know haha.
Today also marks the end of Blogtober, which is sad but also a huge weight of my shoulders! Don’t get me wrong, I’ve loved Blogtober this year but it is stressful trying to keep up with posting every day while working full time. I’m really glad I managed to complete it though, so I’ll be giving myself a celebratory pat on the back.
Thank you to everyone who supported me during this, to those of you who read, liked, subscribed, commented, re-tweeted etc. It really means a lot and I hope you all enjoyed my posts! I’d like to give a special shoutout to Yasmine from Pretty Little Finch who was mega supportive. Make sure you all go and check out her blog. Yasmine’s writing style and photography is beautiful and she’s such a lovely human being!
Another reason why this day feels a little bit extra special to me? In exactly two years time Jaz and I will be getting married! It’s both a terrifying but exciting thought. We’re going to our very first wedding fayre this weekend and I can’t wait! I have no idea what to expect from it so if anyone has any tips or advice then please let me know.
Highlights of the Month:
1.) Hit 10,000 overall views
10,000 may not seem like a lot to some but I was so happy I finally hit that milestone! I’m hoping next year I can get that to 20,000 which would be amazing. I’m almost at 500 blog followers, I’d love to be able to reach that by the end of the year but I think that’s a bit of a stretch. If you’re reading this and you’re not subscribed yet then please do! I’d really appreciate it.
I always have the best time at Longleat! Jaz and I went last Saturday and had so much fun which you can read about here. It was a really memorable weekend, filled with autumn/Halloween activities and I even held a tarantula for the first, and probably last, time!
3.) Something mysterious
Something huge happened in my personal life which I can’t talk about yet but I also couldn’t not mention it as a highlight haha. After working so hard for this for so long it finally happened and both Jaz and I are thrilled! Our lives will be completely changing soon and I’m so excited. I will explain more about this in the future but for now, it needs to be a little mystery. (I realise this sounds like I’m pregnant but I’m not haha).
4.) Autumn and Halloween decorating
This year I decided to buy some autumnal home decor to refresh my room a bit and I’m still obsessed with everything I got. I love seeing the Llama duvet, the mustard cushions and the Halloween snowglobe. It all makes me very happy. I feel like we did really well with the Halloween decorating this year too, Asda killed it with their homeware range! Every time I went in there I ended up walking out with an armful of decorations haha. It’s been really fun making the house extra cosy and spooky.
5.) Pumpkin carving
Pumpkin carving is definitely my favourite October activity and this year was no exception! I feel like I’m getting better at it each year. This year I was a bit more adventurous with my design, as in I didn’t do the standard scary pumpkin face. I want to make it a goal next year to do something really elaborate and artistic!
6.) Booked our wedding venue
We booked the most beautiful venue for our wedding and it was more than I ever could’ve dreamed! I can’t wait to see it again this weekend when we go to the wedding fayre. It’s the perfect place for an autumn wedding and the thought of getting married in a castle just makes me squeal with happiness.
7.) Christmas shopping
I started buying presents and decorations this month! I’m feeling very organised this year, I have long lists for everyone, I’ve managed to save all year to up everyone’s budget which makes me very happy and I’ve already finished Christmas shopping for my sister. I love Christmas and I’ve got some really exciting things coming up such as Winter Wonderland and…the 12 Days of Blogmas.
Yes, that’s right, I’ve decided to do some form of Blogmas again this year. I knew I wouldn’t be able to do the full 24 days with how much of my time Blogtober has taken. So, I have planned my 12 days of Blogmas. I’ve managed to schedule one post for it so far, and I’m very excited to start writing more Christmas content!
Overall October was a fantastic month. There were a fair few lows this month but the good things definitely outweighed the bad and it was an October to remember. Again thank you all so much for reading my posts and putting up with the endless self-promotion on social media haha.
I hope you’ve all had a great October too and an amazing Halloween! Thanks for reading and I’ll see you all again soon.
