Happy Halloween 2019
HAPPY HALLOWEEN 2019!
Halloween 2019 is finally here and I hope you’re all having a spooktacular day!
Jaz and I will be celebrating Halloween 2019 by having a spooky movie night. Hopefully, we’ll also be giving sweets out to trick or treaters if we get any. If not then I’ll happily eat all the sweets anyway!
This time next year, however, will be very different as it’ll be our wedding day! I can’t believe there’s only a year now until me and Jaz get married. That thought is both exciting and terrifying.
Today also marks the end of Blogtober. I can’t believe I’ve managed to complete Blogtober for the 3rd year running. Not to toot my own horn or anything but I’m pretty proud! This month was such a big month, what with my move to Essex, so I’m very surprised I managed to keep up with Blogtober. Thank you to absolutely everyone who supported me this month. I hope you all enjoyed my posts! November will be a little quieter on the blog scene as 1. I need a break and 2. I’ll be in Disneyland, Paris for a week for my birthday!
Highlights of October 2019
This month has been extremely busy and filled with lots of exciting, fun things so I thought I’d share with you all some of my highlights from October.
Moving to Essex
Obviously the biggest thing that happened to me this month, and probably this year, was moving to Essex. I moved on the 5th of October and it has been a very big adjustment. Jaz and I have been in a long-distance relationship for nearly 8 years, I think the most time we’ve ever spent together consecutively is a week. I thought we’d struggle living and spending SO much time together but it’s actually been pretty easy which is a massive relief.
The thing I’ve struggled with most is homesickness. I’ve missed some people, the familiar surroundings of home and of course my cat, Gaston. I’ve been trying to get out and about by myself as much as possible to explore the area and feel comfortable but it’s definitely hard and I’m just constantly anxious and on edge when I’m out alone. Hopefully, it’ll get easier over time.
Living with 3 boys, Jaz, his dad and his brother, has also been a big change from living with my mum and sister. While my household is a very relaxed place, Jaz’s house is quite a bit stricter so I don’t feel at home yet or ready to call this house ‘home’.
I’ve been spending time job hunting as well while I’m here. I think having a place to be every day will give me a sense of purpose and help me feel more comfortable in Essex/London. I’ve had a couple of interviews but nothing substantial has come from them. One interview was just plain weird and I was itching to get out as fast as possible.
Our new-build house, which we bought last October, is expected to be complete between April-June and is still on track. We drive past the development fairly often and it’s so nice to finally see some progress happening after the number of delays we’ve had with it so far.
Visiting a Pumpkin Patch
This year I visited a pumpkin patch for the very first time and it was absolutely amazing! I loved every minute of it and will definitely be making it an annual tradition. Visiting a pumpkin patch makes the whole pumpkin buying experience a lot more fun, rather than digging around the containers in a supermarket to get one.
Colchester Zoo Fright Night
Jaz and I also went to the Colchester Zoo Fright Night and had a great time! I’d definitely recommend it if you get the chance to go. We were there during the day to see all the animals and participate in a few activities more catered to children such as a pirate maze and a special spooky sea lion presentation. Then, as the sun went down, the haunted house, haunted maze, and haunted train ride were all available and they were all super creepy!
As I do every year I got my nails done for Halloween! I was a little worried I wasn’t going to be able to get them done this year as I had to find a new nail salon and I’m pretty picky when it comes to choosing a salon. Thankfully I found one and managed to just walk in and get an appointment there and then. This year I got The Nightmare Before Christmas inspired nails and I absolutely love them! The nail tech did a fantastic job and three weeks later they’re still fully intact with not a chip in sight.
Of course, we carved the pumpkins we picked from the pumpkin patch and I think they both came out really well. I’m very excited to put them outside and light them. Hopefully, we’ll actually get some trick or treaters come to the house and appreciate them!
As I’ve had a lot of time to myself I’ve managed to get quite a lot of Christmas shopping done! I’ve completely finished shopping for my sister and I have plenty of ideas for other people. I always like to start my Christmas shopping in October as it takes so much stress away. I hate leaving it until the last minute, I’ve no idea how people do it!
Once again thank you to everyone who supported me during Blogtober. Everyone who read, liked, commented and shared my posts! I hope you all had a fantastic month and have a very spooky Halloween 2019!
