My Perfect Autumn Day
My Perfect Autumn Day
One of my favourite things about autumn is getting that cosy feeling, which is why I often try to have a perfect autumn day. What’s a perfect autumn day you ask? Well, it involves candles, treats, movies and more to get you to feel all those warm, fuzzy feelings. Personally, for me, it’s a form of self-care where you don’t need to worry about any adult responsibilities and can spend the day relaxing in your comfies.
Here, in this blog, I’ll be describing my perfect autumn day which will hopefully inspire you to take time for yourself and do the same!
Lush Halloween Bath
After enjoying a little lie-in, the first thing I’ll do when I wake up is run a bath and choose one of my Lush Halloween bath bombs to use. I’ll also do either a face mask, an eye mask, cleanse and exfoliate and generally just make my skin feel clean, fresh and healthy. Before getting in the bath I’ll also light a candle just to make the whole experience even more relaxing. I find this is such a great way to start the day and I’m always in a much better mood for it afterwards.
After the bath, I’ll then get dressed in some cosy clothes which usually consist of legging, an oversized jumper and, of course, fluffy socks! Nothing beats the feeling of fresh fluffy socks after a bath. And if it’s a chilly day too it’ll make you feel even more warm and cosy.
It’s not a cosy autumn day if you don’t treat yourself to a hot chocolate. Whether you make it yourself or order one from the nearest coffee shop, it’s definitely a treat that you deserve. My go-to order is a hazelnut hot chocolate which makes it just that little bit extra sweet.
Candles can really make such a big difference to my mood. I love this time of year where I can get out all of the autumn candles and make my entire house smell like autumn. From cinnamon and caramel to other winter spices and pumpkin, when the room is smelling like autumn I feel so much cosier. And yes, I am also a big cliche because the second it starts to rain you can bet I’m running to light those candles.
In the afternoon, I like to curl up on the sofa under a blanket and put on a cosy/spooky movie. Tim Burton is always a good choice! Some of my favourites include Edward Scissorhands, Coraline, The Nightmare Before Christmas, Hocus Pocus, Monster House and, of course, any Harry Potter movie. Anything nostalgic that’s fitting with the season will do. Or, if I’m not in the mood to watch a movie, I’ll stick on Gilmore Girls or American Horror Story in the background and play a bit of Animal Crossing on my Switch Lite.
Reading Under the Stars
At the end of the day, I’ll get into bed, pick up my trusty Kindle and read either a new book or a comfort book under the stars with my galaxy projector. With hundreds of little stars and swirls projected onto the ceiling, it makes the room look so pretty and peaceful. And when reading a fantasy book (which is pretty much all a read) it adds a real element of magic. I can even change the colour of the projector too, depending on my mood. I’d highly recommend getting one, if you haven’t already, for the ultimate cosy night in.
And there you have it, my perfect autumn day. Sometimes, if I feel the need to get out of the house, I’ll also take a walk in my local park amongst all the pretty, crunchy leaves. Let me know in the comments if you’ll be taking some time out to have a perfect autumn day and what cosy things you like to do.
