Fine day Sunday. In my opinion best day of the week and why is that? Because it’s totally justifiable to be completely lazy and pamper yourselves before the week ahead, and yes I did just quote Harry Potter. Sunday’s are my favourite day of the week, especially during autumn when everything is extra cosy, it’s raining outside and I’m not obligated to go anywhere or be productive.
Today I thought I’d share with you all my favourite things to do for the perfect Sunday
Have a bath:
The first thing I like to do on a lazy Sunday is have a bath using my favourite Lush bath bombs. I’ll either cleanse or use a face mask too, sit back and relax. Sometimes I’ll take a book in with me if I plan on being in there for a while. It’s such a great way to start the day, feeling all warm and clean and fresh.
Wear comfy clothes:
Nobody can have a lazy, chilled out Sunday while wearing jeans. After the bath, I’ll stick on my favourite pair of cosy leggings, an oversized jumper or hoodie and fluffy socks.
Write blog posts:
Writing blog posts isn’t always the most relaxing activity to do but when you’re already in a chilled mindset I find it much easier to write. Normally I get all of my posts written on Saturday but if for some reason I didn’t manage it I’ll spend some time at my kitchen table writing while eating breakfast or lunch.
Have hot chocolate:
What autumnal Sunday would be complete without a hot chocolate?! You can find my recipe for this extremely chocolatey hot chocolate here.
After lunch, my mum, sister and I will always sit down to watch a couple of movies. This is one of my favourite traditions. It’s a time where we all forget about our responsibilities, sit on the sofa with our blankets and our cat and just watch some feel-good movies.
Of course, watching movies for most of the afternoon requires snacks which are always of the chocolate kind. My personal favourite Sunday movie snack is a bag of Milky Bar buttons. After sticking to a diet all week it’s nice to treat ourselves with our favourite chocolate.
After the movies have finished I’ll go upstairs, get into bed and read for a little while. Right now I’m reading the Harry Potter series. I’ll light a cinnamon scented candle in my window, curl up and read a chapter or two before ending up having a nap.
Have a Roast Dinner:
To end a perfect autumnal Sunday a roast dinner is needed. It is the most glorious meal. Roast chicken, vegetables, gravy, Yorkshire puddings (yes, I know you’re not supposed to have them with chicken but they’re too delicious to pass up!) and best of all roast potatoes! My mum claims she’s not a great cook, which admittedly is true haha, but she does make a delicious roast dinner. It’s the highlight of our Sunday.
I hope you all enjoyed this post. What are your favourite things to do on a lazy autumnal Sunday?
