Welcome to Blogtober 2019

October 1, 2019
Blog post

After telling myself for months that I wasn’t going to participate in Blogtober 2019 due to the fact I’ll be making a very big move in just a few days from Somerset to Essex…I just couldn’t help myself.

I began planning Blogtober all the way back in August, after a very rainy few days got me in such an autumnal mood. Honestly, I just love writing all the autumn and Halloween posts so much I couldn’t resist doing Blogtober for the 3rd year in a row.

If you’re new and don’t what Blogtober is, basically I will be posting a new autumn/Halloween related blog post every single day throughout October. That’s right, 31 posts! It’s hard work, it’s stressful and extremely time-consuming but I love every minute of it and it makes me try and experience new things throughout the month to blog about.

Today I thought I’d kick things off with an autumn 2019 bucket list!

Go to a Pumpkin Patch

Can you believe I’ve never been to one?! This year I really want to visit a pumpkin patch to choose my pumpkin, rather than digging through a pile of pumpkins in Tesco to find the perfect one.

Move to Essex

I’m adding this to the bucket list knowing I’ll be able to cross it off in just 4 days time! I’ll be moving in with Jaz and his family until the new build house we bought last October will finally be ready next year. It’s taken a ridiculously long time due to several long delays but hopefully, it’ll be worth it!

Explore Essex and London

I’m very excited to explore both London and Essex more, to find out what events are happening around this time of year and to make it feel more like my home.

Go to Shriek Week/Fright Night at Colchester Zoo

This looks like a lot of fun with themed displays, activities and food. I’m hoping Jaz and I can go toward the end of the month.

Decorate for Halloween

I love decorating for Halloween and have an abundance of decorations all ready and waiting to go out. I’ll no doubt be buying a few more Halloween/autumn decorations too.

Carve Pumpkins

What Halloween would be complete without carving pumpkins?! It’s one of my favourite things to do and I can’t wait to start browsing Pinterest for design ideas.

Firework Night

Every year my family and I go to Sherborne Castle to watch the bonfire and firework display. As I’ll be in Essex this year I’d like to find a nearby display to go to with Jaz.

Go for a Walk in the Woods

Since we’ll be living quite close to some big parks and woods I’d love to go for an autumn walk through them and take lots of beautiful, autumnal pictures.

Watch Horror Movies I Haven’t Seen Before

Horror is one of my favourite genres but there are still so many I haven’t seen, including cult classics so I definitely want to have a horror movie day and watch a bunch I haven’t seen before.

Shop for Cosy Jumpers

I’m at my happiest when jumper season finally arrives. Cosy jumpers are my absolute favourite thing to wear, I can’t get enough of them and I plan on updating my autumn wardrobe with more.

That’s everything on my autumn bucket list this year! Let me know in the comments what’s on your bucket list and if you’re participating in Blogtober 2019.

I hope you all enjoyed this post. If you want to keep up with Blogtober then make sure you subscribe to my blog! You can also follow me on Instagram, Twitter and Pinterest too. Thanks for reading!

Cosy jumpers are the best, they go with so much and are a wardrobe staple! Exciting that your house will be ready next year, are you involved with any of the design or interior planning? Can you believe I’ve never carved a pumpkin?! It’s not really a common thing in New Zealand ? x

They really are! I have so many but that doesn’t stop me from buying more haha. Yes we’ve chosen things like the carpet, tiling, cabinets and counter tops and have been able to add in extras like a fireplace. Hopefully it’ll be worth the wait ?
What?!? ? I suppose it’s the wrong season there to really get pumpkins? I hope you get to carve one at some point though, it’s a lot of fun ?

This is a great list! I am so looking forward to carving a pumpkin – but I am most excited for Bonfire Night and the firework displays in London ♥

Thank you! Carving pumpkins is so much fun and I love seeing them all outside of people’s houses. Yes! I’ve never been to a firework display in London before so definitely super excited to go to one. ?
