Welcome to Blogtober!
Welcome to Blogtober! I have been so excited to do this and have been planning it for months. If you don’t know what blogtober is then you are in for a treat! Basically I will be blogging all things Autumn and Halloween related every day throughout October.
Autumn is my favourite time of year, I have a countdown all year long and start stocking up on jumpers and lighting cinnamon candles in August, annoying all the Summer lovers around me. I can’t wait to get started on this challenge and hopefully you’ll enjoy it just as much as I will.
So to kick things off I thought I would get everyone in the Autumnal mood, if you aren’t already, with a list of all the reasons why I love this season.
1.) The colours
Oranges, yellow, red, brown leaves are so pretty!
2.) Kicking leaves
Who doesn’t love kicking the leaves as you walk or hearing them crunch between your boots? Plus pets have loads of fun playing in them and look even cuter than usual doing so.
3.) Cosy Jumpers
I for one live in knitted jumpers and oversized cardigans. Being snuggled up and warm is the best feeling!
4.) Dark nights
I actually like it when the nights get darker. I hate sitting down on the sofa at 9pm and it still being light outside, it’s just not right. When it gets dark you can light candles, get in your pjs and watch tv with a hot chocolate under a blanket, extra cosiness.
Oh the candles, cinnamon, pumpkin, autumn nights, rain, all the best scented candles are out now and you can get that traditional autumn smelling atmosphere in every room of the house!
6.) Hot Chocolate
Need I say more? Hot chocolatey goodness on a chilly autumn day, perfection.
Not many people decorate for autumn but I have seen the occasional Autumnal wreath on the front door which I love and have always wanted. Halloween decorations are amazing as well, I’ve been building up my Halloween decor for the last couple of years and more and more people in the UK seem to be getting into the spirit.
8.) Pumpkin Carving
I love carving pumpkins! I’m not very good at it but it’s such a fun tradition to do.
9.) TV shows
All of the best TV shows come back! American Horror Story, Stranger things, The Walking Dead, Riverdale, all ready for those cosy nights in,
10.) Bonfire night
Probably one of my favourite nights of the year. We always go to a fairground where they have a massive bonfire, rides, attractions, popcorn, candyfloss, prizes and of course an absolutely spectacular firework display.
The list could go on and on but those are some of my personal favourite things about the best season of the year. Leave a comment telling me some of your favourite things and we can all cheer over the fact that Autumn is finally upon us!
I hope you enjoyed this post and will join me in this Blogtober challenge, if you’re doing it too then let me know so I can follow you too! Also follow me on Instagram and Twitter to keep up to date with everything and I will of course follow everyone back.
