Thank you so much to Lisa Williams for nominating me for this award! You should all head over to her blog and give it a read, if you haven’t done so already. Can’t believe I finally get to do one of these haha. I am extremely grateful to all of my readers, you’ve made this whole blogging adventure so much fun, every time I get a notification for a like, follow or comment I feel so excited that someone has joined this little community and taken time out of their day to read my posts.
For those of you who don’t know here are the rules:
- Thank the blogger who nominated you.
- Answer the 11 questions given.
- Nominate bloggers you think fit the criteria for the award.
- Let those bloggers know you’ve nominated them.
- Create 11 questions for the nominees to answer.
The questions I was given:
1.) What inspired you to start writing your blog?
I don’t have many friends, and in my very small circle no one is as interested in makeup, fashion and books as I am. So I wanted to start this blog to find people who shared similar interests, people who understood that not all nude lipsticks look the same and that yes, setting spray really does make a difference haha.
2.) If you could read one book for the rest of your life what would it be?
Oh that’s a hard one, I’m not sure I could pick just one! Two immediately spring to mind, the first is A Tale for the Time Being by Ruth Ozeki, which is just the most thought provoking and gripping book I’ve ever read, it completely changed how I looked at things and I could not put it down. The second is Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead, it’s been my favourite series since I was 16 and I just don’t think I’ll ever get bored of it.
3.) What is your favourite Disney film?
This is an impossible question! I love them all! The Jungle Book, 101 Dalmatians, Peter Pan, Tarzan, Mulan, Pocahontas, Cinderella and Tangled I think would be my favourites, I’m so bad at this but I can’t choose one haha.
4.) Which of your blog posts are you most proud of?
I think all of the ones after my I’m Back post, since I started blogging again I’ve put so much more effort into my posts and I’m fully committed to this blog now. I’ve been really happy with the content I’ve put out and I’m excited each time a post goes live, whereas before I just didn’t have that enthusiasm.
5.) Who is your favourite film/TV show character and why?
Blair Waldorf from Gossip Girl. She was always an idol of mine and someone I looked up to. I was bullied pretty badly in school and one way I got through it was to put on a hairband and channel my inner Blair Waldorf, it sounds silly I know, but it worked haha.
6.) If you could spend the day with three celebrities who would they be?
I think it would have to be Holly Willoughby, Phillip Schofield and then either Anna or Jonathan Saccone-Joly, they’re all just hilarious and spending the day with them would be so much fun!
7.) What is your favourite thing about blogging?
I love sharing my thoughts and opinions with you all, I love how supportive everyone in the blogging community is and I love writing. Blogging makes me very happy. I spend the majority of my day thinking about blog posts I can write, even when I’m at work I make lists of ideas and schedules, which I probably shouldn’t do so don’t tell my boss that haha. I’m just really passionate about this blog and I have so much fun doing it.
8.) Do you prefer to be in front of the camera or behind it?
I’ve been doing Performing Arts since I was about two years old, I studied it at school, college and university, so I love being in front of the camera, but I don’t like having my picture taken, weird I know. I have no problem being filmed talking or doing silly things but having to pose for a picture just fills me with dread. I have also had experience behind the camera too and some of my best college memories have been with friends behind the scenes controlling the sound or lighting and filming.
9.) What is your favourite animal?
Dolphins have always been my favourite animals, but then I also love giraffes, cats and panda’s too.
10.) What was your dream job as a child?
I wanted to be an actress and that is still a dream of mine, just a far-fetched one.
11.) What is one thing you have learned since you started blogging?
I’ve learned just how supportive everyone is, whether your just starting out or more experienced there will always be someone there supporting you. Some of the comments I’ve received on posts that have been a little scary to put out there have made my day, and given me confidence. Everyone I’ve encountered has just been so lovely and in a world that seems to be filled with hate and criticism it’s nice to find a community of people who are the complete opposite.
