73 Questions with Hollie – Vogue Parody

May 8, 2019
Blog post

We all know the Vogue 73 questions videos where Vogue challenge celebrities to answer 73 rapid fire questions. I find these videos so interesting as you see the celebrities either in their homes or going about their day answering random questions to let fans get to know them a little bit. My personal favourite is the 73 Questions with Taylor Swift, I just love her!

Just over a week ago I saw this post on Simplyemsblogs, make sure you’re following her if you’re not already, and thought it looked really fun. It’s a great, simple way for any new followers I’ve gained recently, or long term followers to get to know me more. I’m also a super nosy person and love reading random posts like this from others so hopefully, you’ll like it too! This parody was originally created by Mari so make sure you give her a follow and tag her if you plan on doing this post too.

1.) What’s your usual Starbucks order?

I don’t actually live near a Starbucks so I hardly ever go there. On the couple of times I have been there though I’ve ordered a Mango Passion Fruit Frappuccino.

2.) What does your work station look like?

An absolute mess. There’s snacks, drinks, paperwork, phone, charger, stationery just all lying around everywhere in an organised chaos style.

3.) All-time favourite food?

The first thing that comes to mind is chocolate but I also love pasta too!

4.) Favourite author?

Probably Richelle Mead, I love all of her books, they always make me cry and I get completely sucked into them.

5.) What do you think of open relationships?

I don’t understand them at all! How can you love two or more people in that way equally and how can someone be okay with sharing their partner? Ugh no, definitely not for me.

6.) What is your favourite video game?

The only game I really play is the Sims. Sims 3 is my all-time favourite but I mainly just play Sims 4 now.

7.) Guilty pleasure treat?

Dominos pizza or a Cornish pasty.

8.) Your favourite movie?

Oh that’s really hard. I’m not sure I have a favourite movie, there’s too many I love.

9.) Your favourite book?

Either the Vampire Academy series by Richelle Mead or A Tale for the Time Being by Ruth Ozeki.

10.) Best advice you’ve ever received?

Is it bad that I can’t think of any? My mum has always said ‘everything will work out in the end’ so if I’m having a bad day or things don’t seem to be going well I’ll just repeat that in my head.

11.) Twitter or Instagram?

Despite my love/hate relationship with Instagram I prefer using that over Twitter.

12.) Are you a desktop or laptop person?

If I had room in my house to have a desktop I would but for now I’m a laptop person.

13.) What projects are you working on right now?

Well, I’m currently pushing myself to get my novel ready to send off to literary agents and I’m starting to delve into the world of freelance writing.

14.) What’s your favourite colour?

15.) Did you get good grades in school?

I think so. They weren’t all A* but I was really happy with them.

16.) Dream job?

Full-time author

17.) Played any sports?

I am currently a purple belt in karate. I took a break for about 18 months but I’ve recently rejoined and forgot how brutal it can be haha. It is fun though and I’m already feeling the benefits.

18.) Do you have a degree?

Yes, I have a B.A Hons 2:1 degree in both Drama and Creative Writing from the University of Winchester.

19.) Nationality?

20.) What’s your favourite kind of blog post to do?

I love writing eyeshadow palette reviews and lately, I’ve really been enjoying writing wedding planning posts.

Do eyeshadow palettes and lipsticks count? Because I’ve got way too many of those!

22.) Describe yourself in 3 words?

Shy, ambitious, drama queen.

23.) If you were a rapper what would your rap name be?

I have absolutely no idea haha.

24.) Who was the last person you DM’d?

At the time I’m writing this it was Amy, @Ibninthecorner, on Twitter, we desperately needed to discuss The Long Night episode of Game of Thrones.

25.) What’s on the top of your wishlist right now?

Honestly, the only thing I can think of right now is the Charlotte Tilbury Glowgasm Palette, it looks so pretty!

26.) Sorting House?

27.) How many tattoos do you have?

None and I don’t plan on getting any in the near future.

That our house build has finally started and should be complete by the end of September.

29.) What’s the best thing that’s happened to you this month?

I’m writing this on the last day of April so I’ll have to say my blog views. I put in so much more work effort with my blog this month and my views are the best they’ve been so far this year which I’m really happy about.

30.) What’s the best thing that’s happened to you today?

I tried the Malteser Truffles for the first time today and they were amazing…I do feel a tad sick now though.

31.) What’s the best thing ever?

Feeling happy and content with life.

Christmas and Halloween

34.) Which fictional character do you relate to the most?

Oh I’m not sure, maybe Becky Bloomwood from Confessions of a Shopaholic haha.

35.) Do you like surprises?

Depends on what it is. During uni Jaz decided to show up at my dorm unexpectedly and I told him off as I’d had no time to tidy up my room or anything. I like surprise presents though.

36.) What’s the biggest surprise you’ve ever had?

This is really hard, every birthday and Christmas has always been full of surprises. One time for my birthday my parents pulled me out of primary school and took me and my sister on a surprise trip away which was really fun. The biggest recent surprise though is probably when Jaz proposed in Disneyland last year. I was hoping he would but I wasn’t expecting it to actually happen.

37.) What’s the surprise that’s made you cry?

Definitely the proposal.

38.) What’s the best surprise you’ve given someone?

For my mum’s 50th birthday I surprised her with tickets to see Les Mis in the West End and then dinner at Bubba Gump Shrimp.

I’m not a fan of desserts with fruit in them like Apple pies or crumbles.

Either chocolate or Doritos.

Cocktail night!

Show up late.

I don’t find any pick-up lines funny so none.

I’ve never been a comic book fan!

54.) What are three things that are always in your purse?

Hairbrush, umbrella, Airpods.

Nothing less than full coverage!

I blow dry my fringe and leave the rest to air dry. My hair is way too thick for me to bother blow drying it.

62.) Who is your fashion icon?

I wouldn’t say I really have one. I like Blair Waldorf’s style and Jane’s from Jane the virgin. Normally I go for cute, feminine clothes with bright colours and patterns.

63.) Favourite Disney character?

Rapunzel…and Belle…and Ariel…and Mulan…and Pocahontas.

Great concept for a post! So interesting to learn a bit more about you as a recent-ish follower 🙂 do the 73 questions change for each YouTube video/celebrity?

I’m glad it was interesting haha I love reading these types of posts but worry my answers are just boring haha. They do vary for each celeb and some are related to their location but there are some that are the same/very similar. ?

Oh I love this post!! I definitely want to do it on my blog, it’s so fun!! Our favorite desserts are exactly the same, lol. Nothing beats a warm super chocolately brownie with ice cream. <3 (That would also probably be my 4am snack haha.)
Oh and I didn't know you were a writer! (Other than blogging of course, lol.) I love that you are pursuing publishing a novel and freelance writing. I'm also a freelance writer and I love writing books! I haven't pursued a publisher yet, but maybe someday. 🙂

I was born in Italy (near Rome) and lived there for five years! x

I love watching these videos and your parody post is brilliant! Good luck with everything novel related and of course for freelancing. (I’m working on that too this summer!) Desserts with fruit in them are the worst! Cakes just should not be healthy in that way…

Oh good luck with your freelancing too! It’s definitely a big challenge but will hopefully be worth it. ? Finally someone else agrees with me about desserts with fruit! It’s just wrong! Haha
