A Month in Pictures: April 2019
How are we in May already?! Is this year flying by for anyone else? It’ll be Christmas again before we know it. (YAY) Honestly, though May is one of my favourite months of the year. It’s not unbearably hot and we get two bank holidays! What’s not to love? April 2019 was a really good month for me, we all had that long Easter weekend where the weather was warm and everyone was happy. I also had the week following Easter off from work so I was extra happy haha.
I feel like I did quite a bit in April 2019 and have no negative points to mention which is shockingly unusual. It was just a really great month!
Lost more weight
This month I lost 6 pounds, making it 11 pounds in total which I’m beyond happy about! It’s the most weight I’ve lost in such a long time and it hasn’t been that difficult. I’ve just been cutting down portion sizes and walking a lot more and the weight seems to be falling off. I hope I haven’t just jinxed it by saying that haha. I’m already noticing such a big difference around my face and in my clothes. I’m aiming to continue losing weight in May and hope to lose around another 5/6 pounds.
Got my hair done
Last summer I dyed most of my hair a bright, shocking pink and while I absolutely loved it I’m now working to get back to my natural blonde. As my wedding is at the end of next year I have a vision of what I want my hair to look like so I’ve started working on it early as I know it’s going to take a while before I’m 100% happy with it.
This month I had most of the pink cut out. I think after one more cut it’ll be gone completely and then I can just focus on growing it out. Ideally, I’d like it to reach the middle of my back for the wedding. I also had blonde highlights put in as I like my hair to be lighter for summer and I want to be blonder on my wedding day. I’m happy with the colour right now but I think I still want it a little bit lighter for the wedding so will be working with my hairdresser to get the perfect colour.
Ordered the Urban Decay Game of Thrones Collection
Yes, this had to be mentioned in my April 2019 highlights haha. I was so excited when I heard Urban Decay was releasing a Game of Thrones Collection! As a massive Game of Thrones fan, I knew I had to have some of the products. I ordered the eyeshadow palette, which I’ll be doing a full review on later this week, the highlighter palette and two lipsticks. All the products have been amazing so far and I’ve had so much fun creating looks with them all.
As a quick side note: I’ve been loving the new season of Game of Thrones so far! This season is really going to tear us all apart. Let me know who you want or who you think will be sitting on the Iron Throne by the end!
The Easter weekend was so much fun! Jaz and I spent Good Friday on the beach as the weather was really warm. We then spent Saturday browsing the shops in Bath and having lunch in Sally Lunn’s which is one of my favourite places to eat. Then, on Easter Sunday we ate chocolate, of course, went for a little country walk with my family and played some games.
Ted Baker Bag
During the last week of the month, I went back to Bath with my mum and sister for a shopping day. I had a gift card for Ted Baker which I got for Christmas and had been contemplating getting the Judyy bag for months. I’m a really big Ted Baker fan and the bag I had from them before was without a doubt my favourite bag I’ve ever owned. After spending ages in the shop deciding which colour to go for I finally decided on the classic black bag and I’m so happy with it. It’s such a beautiful bag, it’s the perfect size for me and I can’t wait to start using it.
That’s pretty much all of my highlights for April 2019! We did also get some more news on our house build which is progressing nicely and should be ready to move into toward the end of this year which is extremely exciting. We’ve had a lot of issues and a LOT of delays with this house but it sounds like it’s all coming together now so fingers crossed nothing else goes wrong. Later on this year I will be doing a full, detailed post all about our house buying experience.
I’m excited to see what May brings. I have a trip to London planned on the second bank holiday which I’m really looking forward to and one of my favourite nights of the year is in May. EUROVISION! I bloody love the Eurovision, it’s cheesy and terrible but hilarious so I really can’t wait for that!
