A Month in Pictures: March 2019
Hello everyone! I hope you’re all doing well and have had a lovely Saturday. It’s the start of yet another month which means it’s time to round up my March 2019 in pictures. Honestly, March was pretty uneventful, as always there was ups and downs but overall it was a good, chilled month.
Booked our Wedding Photographer
If you read my last post you’ll know that we booked our wedding photographer this month! It was probably the smoothest and most stress-free part of the whole wedding planning experience so far. We’re currently deciding on when and where we want to do our engagement shoot which I’m actually really excited about. Neither Jaz or I are very comfortable in front of a camera so this shoot will be so useful.

Lost 5 Pounds
I really struggle with my weight. It always seems like no matter what I do I always gain more and more. Since joining the gym and eating super clean, despite losing weight initially, I’ve gained a stone in the last year. I am extremely self-conscious about this. During March I took a new approach. Rather than going to the gym, something I really don’t enjoy anyway, I’ve been walking a lot more which makes me happier.
My personal trainer used to tell me I should be eating 5 small meals a day but that just wasn’t working for me. I did not need the amount of food she was suggesting. So I cut down on the number of meals I have in a day and the portion sizes. Made sure my meals are still very healthy and drank a lot more. I’m really happy I’ve lost 5 pounds this month. I’m hoping I can continue to lose more so if anyone has any tips please let me know!
This month I also chose my bridesmaids and gave them little bridesmaids invitations that I got from Etsy. I chose my sister to be the Maid of Honour and my friend Jess as a bridesmaid. If you follow me on Instagram you may remember seeing a story of mine of a girl opening a card and screaming, that’s Jess haha. I did contemplate on having a few other bridesmaids but decided on 2 as I didn’t want to be overwhelmed with a plethora of bridesmaids. Both my sister and Jess are who I felt I’d be most comfortable up there with me and when getting ready.
Apparently, secret plans are already being made for the hen do and I have a feeling it could be something Disney themed haha. Either way, I’m very excited to see what they both come up with. They know me very well so there’s definitely no risk of disappointment! I’m also excited to start searching for bridesmaids dresses next.
Redesigned my blog
You may have noticed my blog has had a bit of a makeover. It kind of happened on a bit of a whim. I was browsing Etsy, honestly, I’ve become a bit obsessed with the app, and came across a blog header. So I searched a bit more and found a header that I absolutely loved which led me to finding a new theme. For some reason, I had no idea you could get themes on Etsy.
The day after I bought my new theme all the Pipdig drama happened so I installed that pretty quick! If you’re in need of a new theme I definitely recommend searching on Etsy as there’s so many pretty ones on there and you can get them at a fairly inexpensive price. Mine was just over £20. Themes are generally very easy to install yourself too, they should come with instructions when you download it and it’s incredibly simple. If I can do it then literally anyone else can!
I’m much happier with how my blog looks now. It’s clean, simple and much more reflective of my blog I think.
Mother’s Day was a really fun day. I treated my mum to a Huda Beauty Eyeshadow palette and cinema tickets to see Dumbo. My mother, sister and I are all huge Disney fans so we were all very excited for Dumbo. I also love anything Tim Burton works on! The movie was great, as we expected, and Dumbo was absolutely adorable! Not ashamed to say I cried a few times throughout the movie.
After the cinema, my sister treated us all to waffles/sundaes at Kaspas, it’s been ages since we last went and it was definitely an indulgence we all needed. Luckily I was back to eating healthy straight after so the 5 pounds are still off!
A few other things that happened this month was my mum’s birthday. She had been to Italy earlier in the month so I got her some Italian related gifts such as an oil painting of Venice and then she went to a gig in London with a friend. I also held my first giveaway over on Twitter and Instagram which got a much bigger response than I was expecting!
Another eventful thing that happened was having to go to A&E for a blood test to check I didn’t have carbon monoxide poisoning! I’d been having heart palpitations all week and on Friday they got really bad, I felt faint, lightheaded and had a pounding headache all afternoon. We’d been a little concerned for a few weeks about the carbon monoxide alarm not quite working correctly and that day it’d been beeping all afternoon. After failing to get an appointment at my GP I ended up calling 111 who told me I had the beginning symptoms of it and to get down to A&E immediately.
Obviously, I’m fine! It came back all clear and we got a new alarm. I’ve still been having heart palpitations but it’s calmed down. It was most likely stress that had been causing them all week and the doctor told me that if they continue happening then I’d have to see someone about it. I may have had a little panic over the blood test as I’d never had one before, so now lots of jokes are being made at my expense and I got a card and a balloon from my friends and mother congratulating me on how brave I was haha.
I hope you all enjoyed this post! Let me know in the comments what you got up to during March. I’m looking forward to April as it’s one of my favourite months and I’ve got a week off work coming up haha. While you’re here don’t forget to subscribe to my blog.
