Celebrating Halfway to Christmas 2020

Today is a very special day! In fact, it’s actually my favourite day of the summer because it’s now officially halfway to Christmas! ?

If you’ve been around for a while you’ll know that I’m a HUGE Christmas fan. It’s definitely my favourite time of year. Autumn, winter, Halloween, Bonfire Night, Christmas, I love it all! And every year I take June 25th off work in order to celebrate properly. For me, the festive season begins on this day. I’ll start making my lists and budgeting for each person and the Christmas music will slowly start to make its way into my playlist. I’ll even start buying presents if I see something that someone will love.

So, today I’m bringing you all with me and showing you what I got up to celebrating halfway to Christmas!

Starting the Day With a Festive Bath

It wouldn’t feel like a festive day if I didn’t start it with a Christmas bath. As I still have so many Lush Christmas bath bombs leftover there were plenty of choices. I went with the Snow Fairy Amazeball and the Santa Bubble Bar. Using these two made the bathwater an incredible colour and it smelled amazing, both sweet and zesty. It was the best way to start the day!

Christmas Jumpers

After the bath, I got changed into one of my favourite Christmas jumpers. The UK is experiencing a bit of a heatwave right now so wearing a jumper seemed silly but it’s tradition! Plus it was actually pretty cool inside my house. I paired the jumper with some leggings and fluffy socks for the ultimate comfy, cosy day. This jumper is one of my faves to wear on this day and as we get closer to the actual festive season.

Christmas Music

I also had my Christmas playlist on at various points throughout the day too which got me very much in the Christmas mood! There’s nothing better than singing along to some Christmas tunes. Their so happy and uplifting, well, most of them are anyway. But even the slower and darker songs still hold that Christmas spirit in them.

Christmas Movies & Candles

The main part of my day was watching some of my favourite Christmas movies! The first movie I put on was the Muppets Christma Carol. I’ve loved this movie as a kid and it just never gets old. It’s such a fun, feel-good movie with a great soundtrack! Next, I watched Elf because what kind of Christmas celebration would it be without that classic?! And lastly, I watched Arthur Christmas which is just one of the cutest Christmas movies ever.

There were so many more movies I wanted to watch but sadly I couldn’t fit them all into one day. I also had a couple of my favourite candles lit during the day to make the living room smell ultra festive!

Making a Cadbury Chocolate Gingerbread House

In the afternoon I also attempted to make a Cadbury chocolate gingerbread house which my sister got me. It as actually pretty tricky. Especially working with chocolate in the heatwave! I had to keep putting pieces in the fridge to stop them melting in my hands. It was a lot of fun though and while I was in the middle of making it, with Christmas songs playing in the background, I genuinely forgot it was summer. It really just felt like Christmas Eve!

In the end, I think it came out pretty well! And of course, I’m very excited to eat it, although I think it’s going to take me quite a long time to get through it all.

I hope you all enjoyed this post and it didn’t fill you with dread. ?‍♀️ Let me know if you’re a big Christmas fan and if you do something to celebrate halfway to Christmas.

Ah yes of course! Haha. I have to say, singing along to songs with the words ‘snow is falling’ in them in the middle of summer did feel a bit strange ? It was super messy to make but it does taste amazing ?
