What I got for Christmas | 2017

December 30, 2017

Christmas was five days ago and I don’t know abut you but I’m really feeling the post Christmas blues. It goes by so fast! On the bright side, however, there are only 360 days until next Christmas! I know I said that I was taking a break from blogging until the new year, but I was itching to get writing again. I’ve seen a lot of controversy lately about these ‘what I got for Christmas’ posts…so here I am making one of my own!

Personally I love reading posts like these. I can get caught up for hours looking at pictures and reading what people got. I’m a nosy person and some of these posts actually inspire me for future gifts. I don’t see any issue in being grateful for the presents you received and wanting to share it. I was excited to write this post because I was incredibly happy with what I got for Christmas and wanted to tell you all, just as I would with friends.

From Father Christmas:

Of course I had a ton of chocolate in my stocking! It’s not Christmas without a pack of After Eights. It’s definitely going to take me a while to get through all of this.

You may remember seeing the foil scratch art book in my Dear Father Christmas post, well he certainly delivered! I’ve been scratching off a new, sparkly unicorn everyday and it’s been a lot of fun. I also got a ‘Where’s the unicorn’ book which is surprisingly hard!

I have a suspicion that Father Christmas knows I’m quite the unicorn fan. I’ve had a quick look through the calendar, which is now hanging in my bedroom ready for January, and the pictures are so magical!

I also got these really pretty coasters which we used on Christmas Day. They are extremely sparkly!

Fluffy socks, Harry Potter socks, exfoliating shower gloves, some nice conditioner, cat napkins and other silly little bits were also in my stocking. Father Christmas did not disappoint!

Under the Tree:

I got yet another Christmas jumper from my mum which I wore on boxing day. I was surprised she got me one since she jokes about how many I currently own. This one is from Primark and is so big and cosy, it hid my enormous Christmas belly perfectly!

My sister got me the Autumn Glow Yankee Candle which smells incredible and will be a nice reminder of my favourite season.

These cosy, Chelsea Peers PJ’s were also on my wishlist which my gran got for me. I love them so much! They are very comfortable and look adorable! I’m so obsessed with Chelsea Peers pyjamas and will definitely be getting more in the future.

This was a joke present from my mother. Last year I bought her a paint-your-own Finding Dory set, which sat in the box, untouched, for the whole year. Of course I teased her relentlessly about never painting it, so she got me this as payback. I’m pleased to say I’ve made more progress than she had and I’m determined to finish it haha.

I got this adorable, festive owl Troll Bead to add to my bracelet from my mother.

I finally got an Anastasia Beverly Hills Glow Kit! I’ve wanted the Aurora palette for so long. The colours look amazing, the packaging is gorgeous and so many people rave about these glow kits. I couldn’t believe my mum actually got me this, I was so happy when I opened it! I’ve been using it every day since and will be doing a full review on it soon.

My gran got me this cake design recipe book since she knows I love making elaborate Christmas cakes. There are some really great ideas and step-by-step guides in this book that I’m so excited to try out next year.

I am currently writing this post at the dining table wearing these super soft and fluffy pyjamas my dad got me. They’re very warm and cosy and I love the festive reindeer design.

I don’t really plays games much anymore, not unless it’s the sims, but mum discovered this Disney Adventures game and it is amazing! I’ve virtually hugged so many characters such as Buzz, Beast, Aurora and Peter Pan! There’s so much to do, exploring the park, playing mini games and helping the characters out. I would highly recommend this if you’re a big Disney lover.

My sister very kindly got me a Jo Malone gift card! Even after I had opened it I didn’t believe it was actually a gift card just because it was completely unexpected. She had been teasing me for weeks saying that she had got me an amazing present, she was so happy about it haha. It’s become a bit of a running joke in my family that everyone but me owns something from Jo Malone, when I was the one to introduce them all to it. I am very excited to spend this!

My dad put £100 purely in pound coins in a festive box for both me and my sister which was extremely generous! We’re already planning our big shopping day since me, my mum and sister all got quite a bit of spending money and gift cards from people.

I finally got the Magic Palette! My mum got this for me after I’d dropped many oh so subtle hints. The colours are absolutely stunning and it was a lot bigger than I’d expected. I’ve been having so much fun playing with this palette, again a full review will be up soon!

Lastly I got these gorgeous purple, leather gloves from my mum which I can’t wait to wear. They feel very luxurious and purple is one of my favourite colours.

That’s pretty much everything aside from other smaller bits like a couple more games, shower gel, gift cards and more chocolate. I am very lucky to have been so spoiled! I hope you all had a great Christmas and got everything you wanted too. Leave me links to your ‘what I got for Christmas’ posts, I really love reading them! Don’t forget to subscribe to my blog and follow me on Instagram and Twitter, I will of course follow all bloggers back. Thanks for reading!
