Month in Pictures: August 2020

Well, August 2020 was a wild ride of a month!

Visited Perry’s Cider Farm

At the start of the month, we visited Perry’s Cider Farm for my dad’s 60th birthday. I’d never been here before. I didn’t even know it existed. But, it was a great little place that just totally encapsulated Somerset and I loved it. It was a warm, sunny day which was perfect as we sat outside on hay bales drinking cider and eating stone-baked pizza.

Midnight Sun Book release

The highly anticipated Midnight Sun by Stephanie Meyer was released this month and I was so excited! I was very happy to settle back into my comfortable Twilight bubble once again. Midnight Sun was honestly everything I could’ve hoped for. It told the story of the first Twilight book from Edwards point of view so you got a completely different insight, new scenes and got to know the other vampires even better.

Moved into our first home

After 2 years of delays, countless problems, tears and an unbelievable amount of stress and patience, we finally got the keys and moved into our very first home! We had two weeks notice to pack everything, hire the vans, pay our deposit and legal fees, close our help to buy accounts to get the bonuses and move. It was definitely a very stressful time but I’m so beyond happy that we’re finally in our house!

As I’ve been living in Somerset for the last few months, my mum, sister and I got up super early on Friday the 28th to travel to Essex, pick up the keys and move in! It took all day and quite a few helping hands to get everything in and we have so much to do and unpack! But, I absolutely love our house. It’s got 3 floors, 3 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, a big kitchen/diner with double doors opening out to the garden and a cosy living room that will soon have a fireplace in it which is something I’ve always dreamed of having. Honestly, I’m so excited to decorate, buy furniture, fix up the garden and make it feel all homey.

I’ve also created a new home Instagram account, so if you want to follow our journey of decorating our new build house then check it out!

Bought a new car

So, this was slightly unexpected but Jaz bought a new car, an Audi S5, which we picked up from Bournemouth on the 28th. Yup. You read that right. We moved into the new house in Essex on the 27th, then had to get the train down to Bournemouth the next day to pick up the car. To say that was a stressful weekend would be an understatement haha. Both Jaz and I had been eyeing up this car for a few months and he finally took the plunge and bought it. It’s a super nice car and we’re both very happy with it. It has massaging seats (my personal favourite feature), mood lighting, a digital dashboard and it’s automatic and has all the parking aids. So even I might be brave enough to drive it one day haha.
