My 5 Favourite TV Series!
I love TV and I think we can all agree when I say binge-watching a TV series is one of life’s greatest pleasures. There are a few series that have really stuck with me through the years as my all time favourites which I thought I’d share with you today. If I had to choose only five TV series to watch for the rest of my life these would be it!
1.) The Office
The Office has been my number 1 favourite show since uni. I would watch it over and over and over. Every time it finished I would start season one again right away! It makes me laugh so much and I was devastated when it was taken off the UK Netflix, luckily I have all the DVDs but it’s not the same as Netflix is it?
My favourite character is probably Dwight, he has me in hysterics. If I ever get married I desperately want my guests to dance down the aisle like they did at Jim and Pam’s wedding, it’s hilarious! In my own office I feel like I am most like Phyllis, pretty quiet but once she’s comfortable (or had a few to drink) she comes out of her shell, surprising everyone and is very lovable.
2.) Made in Chelsea
Since day one I have been obsessed with this show! I love the drama, the setting and richness of it all. I wish my life was a glamorous and fancy as theirs but I’m currently writing this on a Saturday afternoon, in my dressing gown and munching a Lindt Bunny. Still, I strive to one day be at their level of glitz, glamour and class. I’ve been to Chelsea a couple times now because of the show and love it, I definitely feel fancy when I’m there and if the opportunity ever arose I would live there in a heartbeat!
My favourites who are currently on the show would have to be Oliva Bentley, Louise Thompson, Sam Thompson, Georgia Toffolo, Jamie Laing (even though he’s a bit of d**k.) Alex Mytton, Francis Boulle and of course the fabulous Mark-Francis Vandelli.
My least favourites currently on the show are Frankie Gaff, I can’t stand her! Mimi Bouchard, Harry Barron, ‘Habbs,’ Ryan Libbey and Sam Prince. Even though I despise most of them, they cause the majority of the drama which I love so I wouldn’t want to see them leave either, with the exception of Frankie, I’m glad she’s gone.
3.) Gilmore Girls
A real feel-good series! I’ve only recently finished watching this for the first time and it’s something that I’m always going to go back to and rewatch. It’s hilarious and heart-warm but also frustrating…Luke and Lorelai wasted so much time! The dynamic between Lorelai and Rory is exactly how it feels between me, my mother and my sister, our house is just as crazy which any newcomers just need to accept.
My favourite characters are obviously Lorelai and Rory, Luke, Richard, Emily, Sookie, Jess and Michel
My least favourite character is Logan. I couldn’t stand Logan. He was a terrible boyfriend and person! He didn’t bother getting to know Lorelai, he didn’t understand Rory and Rory really irritated me when she was around him. Plus he cheated on her and after one conversation she was fine with it and never really mentioned it again…what?! I’m definitely team Jess, he was the best person for her in my opinion.
4.) Gavin and Stacey
Ah Gavin and Stacey, a show very close to my heart. No matter how many times I’ve seen it, it will still make me laugh. I think I first watched this in college, like 6/7 years ago! A couple years ago I actually went to Barry Island and completely freaked out seeing all the familiar scenes. It’s just a happy, feel-good show with James Corden at his best, I don’t even recognise him or even like him that much these days.
I really hope that one day they do another series or a one-off Christmas special, they have the greatest Christmas specials. I need to know what they’re all up to now, how Nessa, Smithy and Neil, the baby, are, what Bryn is up to these days and what happened on that damn fishing trip!
5.) Stranger Things
Stranger Things is the most recent show on this list with only 2 seasons so far but it definitely deserves its place on this list. I think it’s amazing, funny, thrilling and I adore each character. I’ve rewatched it a few times and I’m so excited for season 3, although I am worried as obviously, the kids are growing up in real life, but then it’d be interesting to see them all in high school. Mike and Eleven are so so cute and I can’t wait to see their childhood romance develop. Dustin is my favourite on the show and yes I cried at THAT dance scene.
I do have some special mentions that almost made it into this list and those are American Horror Story, Pretty Little Liars and Orange is the new Black. All great series that I love and would be in my top 10! I hope you enjoyed this post. What are your favourite TV series?
