My Unpopular Opinions #2

June 19, 2019
Blog post

Since I had so much fun writing the first one, and you all seemed to enjoy it, I am back with another unpopular opinions post! I have a feeling these particular unpopular opinions are a tad more controversial than the first ones so please don’t hate me haha. I’d be very interested to hear your thoughts on these!

Crunchy peanut butter is disgusting

It’s just so wrong! I do not understand how anyone can actually enjoy crunchy peanut butter. It actually makes me shiver in disgust. Smooth peanut butter is the only way for me.

I’ve liked every Disney re-make so far

Cinderella, Beauty and the Beast, The Jungle Book, Dumbo, Aladdin. I’ve enjoyed every single one, own the ones that I can on DVD, and can’t wait to see all the upcoming Disney re-makes.

The gym sucks

After going to the gym religiously 3-4 times a week for a year and gaining a stone (definitely not in muscle) I think it’s safe to say the gym sucks. I absolutely hated going in the first place because of how boring and repetitive it was, and because of how much weight I gained while I was there I now hate my body even more then I did before I joined. So I definitely won’t be joining another one anytime soon and have since lost 11 pounds on my own.

I hate mash potato

Like what is the actual point of it? There are so many more interesting and tasty things you can do with a potato. Why mash it up into a soft, bland mess? No thank you.

I’m pro-choice

For the majority of smart, reasonable people this isn’t an unpopular opinion. However, for some bizarre reason, I’m still seeing people, mainly on Twitter, who think it’s a good idea and agree with abortion bans. I’m sorry but I cannot get my head around how anyone can think that a foetus is more important than a living, breathing, fully-functioning human woman. Why do people who are pro-life not care about the life of women?  Kind of ironic don’t you think? Why is it okay for a rapist to potentially get less jail time than the woman he raped getting an abortion. The whole thing both confuses and angers me. Let women decide what they want to do with their bodies. It’s literally no one else’s business!

America needs to stop re-creating British tv shows

With the exception of The Office, all of the American versions of TV shows such as The Inbetweeners and Gavin and Stacey need to stop. It’s a completely different kind of humour that just does not translate! I recently came across the American version of Gavin and Stacey, which stars Alexis Bledel as Stacey so I thought it couldn’t be that bad and was absolutely horrified. Uncle Brian?! Archie instead of Smithy?! No, just no!

Coffee tastes awful

I’ve really tried to get into it and have tried different variations such as mochas and caramel lattes but I just hate the taste of coffee so much. I’m not a fan of tea either which is just a constant embarrassment as a British person.

Babies are pretty ugly when they’re born

Let’s be honest here, they come out all wrinkly and crying and I feel like it takes a little while for them to grow into their features. Obviously, babies and giving birth is a wonderful, happy, life-changing and beautiful thing, but when you actually look closely at newborn babies they always look a little strange.

Custard Creams are the best biscuit

Hands down. No argument. You cannot beat a custard cream. If you disagree leave this post immediately and go have a long, hard think about your life choices.

Marvel movies are so dull

I feel like this one is going to anger a lot of people, well mostly my fiance haha, but I cannot get into Marvel movies. Jaz has been making me watch them from the beginning and I find them so boring! After watching the first Avengers movie for what felt like 4 hours and finding out there was still 40 minutes left of the movie I almost had a breakdown and had to apologise then turn it off. Unfortunately, as I’m making Jaz watch a lot of TV shows I love when we move in I still have to endure the Marvel movies for him. Compromise really sucks sometimes.

Let me know which of these unpopular opinions you agree or disagree with in the comments! I’d love to know. I hope you all enjoyed this post and it didn’t rile you up too much, sorry not sorry haha. While you’re here don’t forget to subscribe to my blog. You can also follow me on Instagram, Twitter and Pinterest too. Thanks for reading!

Ah amazing post! I agree with the Marvel movies to an extent, I find the majority of them quite dull.

I’m so glad someone finally agrees! I can tolerate a couple of them but they’re never going to be something that I’ll just choose to watch.

Smooth peanut butter is so much better! I wouldn’t say all babies aren’t cute but I don’t find them the most adorable things in the world x

I love this!!! Crunchy peanut butter is the worst lol.
I totally agree about the gym, it’s so boring and there’s this weird pressure from other people.
I’m so surprised you don’t like mashed potatoes! I love them, haha.
All of these abortion bans are frustrating and I even read recently about possible jail time if women miscarry and are found to be “at fault” somehow?! As if women haven’t been constantly victim-blamed throughout history, “let’s find a way to blame them when they are grieving too.” >.<
I cannot agree about coffee, it is literally the fuel for my life hahaha.
I've gotten a bit bored with Marvel too. I really liked a lot of them but now they seem repetitive.
What a great post!! Thanks for sharing, these are always so fun. 🙂

Crunchy peanut is very wrong, I know someone who likes eating it with Marmite! ? Yes there is definitely pressure at the gym and I feel like I can never go into the weights section without getting looks! Really?! That’s ridiculous, miscarriages are completely out of women’s control, as if it’s not traumatic enough already now they face jail time? It’s hard to believe these things are still happening in 2019. I really wish I liked coffee, I feel like I could use it haha but I just hate the taste! I’ve only seen a few so far and I’m like ‘cool but what was the point?’ Haha. Thanks for reading, I love writing these types of posts! ?

I don’t know what a custard cream biscuit is but now I want one. Haha. One of my fav actors is Woody Harrelson, I love him.
