Netflix Binge 5
It’s been a few months since my last Netflix binge post so it’s time for an update! Here’s everything I’ve been obsessing over and binge-watching on Netflix this month.
You Season 2
I devoured the first season when it came out last year and was greatly anticipating season 2! To start with I thought season 2 was very similar to the first one and was a little disappointed. The way things were playing out it seemed like the exact same storyline but with a different supporting cast. After the first 2/3 episodes though it did start to pick up and by the end, I thought it was more messed up than the first season!
I did kind of predict the end. About halfway through I was thinking that Joe might possibly meet his match here. Season 3 has officially been announced and while I’m very excited I think it could’ve ended at season 2. I’m not sure where else they can really take the show without it being repetitive but we’ll see!
Cheer is a Netflix docuseries following the Navarro Cheerleaders and I am completely obsessed with it! I had no idea how gruelling, dangerous and competitive cheerleading could be. Living in the UK where cheerleaders aren’t a thing, all I knew about them was what I’d seen in American TV shows, where they’re cute, peppy girls cheering for their high school sports teams.
Little did I know that cheerleading is a sport itself. Honestly, I had so much respect for every single person on that team, as well as the coaches. They were all so amazing and the amount of commitment and work that went into their routine is something to be admired. Seriously, go watch Cheer!
Sex Education Season 2
Yesssss I’ve been waiting for season 2 of Sex Education for so long! It was released on Friday and you can bet I’ve already binged watched the whole thing. I think I watched the first season 3 or 4 times as I kept watching it and introducing it to different people haha. It’s an absolutely hilarious show with a fantastic cast. There are so many different storylines too and I love every single character. It’s definitely a must-watch.
AJ and the Queen
If you’re a fan of RuPaul’s Drag Race then you need to watch this! Featuring RuPaul himself and a ton of cameos from drag race stars such as Bianca Del Rio, Katya, Jinx Monsoon and Chad Michaels, this show is both funny and heartwarming.
It follows Ruby Red (RuPaul) across America as she tries to win/earn back the money that was stolen from while running from the thieves themselves. Unbeknownst to her, AJ, a child from a broken home, is hiding in Ruby’s van with the hopes of going to Texas. When Ruby discovers AJ they form an unlikely bond. It’s a very cute, lighthearted show that I’d definitely recommend.
Over the last few months, I’ve seen so much hype around Derry Girls on social media and as the first season is on Netflix I thought I’d give it a go. It took me a little while to get into, the show is just plain weird, to put it bluntly, haha. It follows a group of 16-year-old Irish girls, and 1 English boy, as they go through the trials and tribulations of being teenagers during the troubles in the early 1990s.
It’s a very funny show, quirky and quick, with characters who have great chemistry together. Not only are the main characters really likeable but the supporting cast is great too. I found Sister Michael particularly funny with her ‘don’t give a sh*t’ attitude. I can see why it’s hyped up so much and think it’s definitely worth a watch. Only the first season is on Netflix at the moment and I believe you can find the second season on Channel 4.
I hope you all enjoyed my Netflix binge 5 post! Let me know in the comments if you’ve watched any of these shows or if you’re planning to. While you’re here don’t forget to subscribe to my blog. You can also follow me on Instagram, Twitter and Pinterest too. Thanks for reading!
