Snow Day February 2019

Snow Day - February 2019

On the 1st of February, we experienced quite a bit of snow in parts of the UK. Everyone knows the UK does not handle snow very well. It’s a pretty rare thing and we’re never properly equipped for it. So, many places shut down for the day, including my office. It was officially a snow day!

While this was very exciting news, especially on a Friday too, my company decided to dock our pay because of it, which made it a little harder to enjoy. But since we rarely get days like this I brushed that fact aside and went out to enjoy the snow!

The Snow Day

Opening the front door at 7am to see this amount of snow was very exciting!

Gaston LOVES the snow!

The snow makes everything look so pretty and magical. So I put on a ton of layers and ventured outside for a walk. Going for a walk in the snow is a definite must. As I live in the country I’m surrounded by cute cottages that look like something out of a movie when covered in snow.

When my mum and I got into town we grabbed a hot chocolate from Caffe Nero, saw a few people and then ventured back home.

The snow was melting pretty fast but there was still enough to make a very small snowman! Admittedly I’m not the greatest at making snowmen but I do try! Plus with a very cute kitty racing around wanting to play and attacking what I’m making the whole process is 100x harder haha.

We named our snowman Fang, due to the very long ‘tooth’ poking out of his mouth. Unfortunately Fang collapsed about 35 minutes later. He had a short but happy life and we liked him very much.

It was a really fun snow day and I was so sad to see it had all pretty much melted the next day! I’m hoping we’ll get more over the next couple of months like we did last year. Did you get any snow last weekend?

I hope you all enjoyed this post! While you’re here don’t forget to subscribe to my blog and follow me on Instagram and Twitter too. Thanks for reading!

What a gorgeous snow day!! I can’t believe you actually live there–it really does look like something magical out of a movie, especially with those country cottages! How beautiful! Thanks for sharing. 🙂
