The Epic Disney Tag
I love Disney and I love writing, and reading, tag posts so ta-da, here we are!
Quite frankly the blogging ideas fountain has temporarily dried up. I saw this post on Foundations and Fairytales and thought it was perfect! It looked really fun and I loved reading her answers.
1.) A scene in any Disney movie you wish you could experience?
Okay so I’m cheating already, I have three.
- I want to go on the magic carpet ride all over the world.
- I’d like to have one of those transformation moments like in Cinderella where my fairy godmother waves her wand and suddenly I’m wearing the most beautiful dress.
- Lastly, of course, I’d love to experience the tangled lantern scene, it was so magical and romantic.
2.) An unforgettable experience you’ve had at the parks?
Hmmm tricky…I think getting engaged during the firework show was pretty a memorable moment haha. Literally something I’ve dreamed of since I was little! I still can’t believe it happened to be honest.
3.) What non-Disney song reminds you or brings back memories of Disney and or the parks?
This is a really hard question! I don’t think I have one. Sometimes the song from the Pirates and Princess parade gets stuck in my head randomly which takes me back to the park but I guess that’s technically a Disney song.
4.) When was the first time you went to a Disney park?
My first trip there was with college when I was 17. We were in Paris for a few days to look at the history of the theatre’s there (drama students) and got a spare day where we all had the opportunity to go to Disneyland. It was the perfect first trip as it was the first time for a lot of us. We were all so excited, especially when we saw our very first parade with all the characters. I’ll never forget that trip.
5.) If you could choose any of the characters to be your best friend who would you choose?
Either Stitch or Alice! Alice would definitely make me more adventurous and we’d have some amazing memories together and I think everyone needs a friend like Stitch.
6.) Who is your favourite Disney princess?
Just one?! I love them all! If I had to choose though It’d probably be the classic Cinderella. It’s the most magical film and one that I never tire of. Whenever I go to Disneyland or I think about how I want to look on my wedding day Cinderella is always the inspiration. She is kind and brave, a little rebellious, has a good heart and dreams of living that fairytale life and having her happily ever after which is all I’ve ever wanted too.
7.) Name a scene/moment in any Disney movie that never fails to make you cry?
Again I have three that come to mind.
- That scene in Homeward Bound when Shadow falls in the muddy hole and can’t make it back up because he’s old, and the others have to leave him and then when Peter is waiting for him to come home just kills me every time!
- When Dumbo’s mum gets locked up and he visits her and cries while being cradled…I’m tearing up now just thinking about it.
- When Stitch is all confused about who he is and says ‘I’m lost,’ that hits me hard.
8.) What’s your favourite Disney movie?
Beauty and the Beast, Peter Pan, Tangled, Mulan, Pocahontas, Cinderella, The Little Mermaid, 101 Dalmatians, The Jungle Book, Tarzan, yeah the list goes on. It’s impossible to choose just one!
9.) Overrated Disney?
The first movie that comes to mind is Frozen. I love Frozen, it’s a great film, I watched it over and over when it came out, I still listen to the songs and I got super excited when I saw Elsa and Ana in the parade and when the Frozen part of the firework show came. But it is definitely is overrated, the hype just never seemed to die down and it’s still going! As much as I loved Frozen I loved Tangled even more and feel like that should’ve got the attention it so rightly deserved.
10.) Underrated Disney?
The Rescuers! It’s such a cute film that needs way more recognition.
11.) Favourite Disney song?
Probably Colours of the Wind. Circle of Life, Just can’t wait to be King, Part of your World, A Girl Worth Fighting For, Beauty and the Beast and A Dream is a Wish your Heart Makes would all be up there too.
12.) Least favourite Disney movie?
Snow White! I really don’t like her, she’s the most boring princess. The only good thing about the film is the Dwarfs.
Fun fact: I once queued up for 2 and a half hours in the Princess Pavillion at Disneyland Paris in the hopes of meeting either Cinderella, Belle, Rapunzel, Ariel or Tiana. When I got to the front of the queue the woman asked me who my favourite princess was and at the time I said Rapunzel thinking she was going to direct me to that room. Instead, when I followed her directions and rounded the corner I saw Snow White and my heart sunk. I think you can see in the picture below just how disappointed I was haha.
Ursula, she was definitely a scary villain and as a child, I hated her so much I declared to my dad that I no longer liked the colour purple and didn’t want anything purple. I think she’s awesome and sassy now and I love the song Poor Unfortunate Souls!
14.) Favourite classic Disney/favourite modern Disney movie?
Classic: Cinderella and Peter Pan
Modern: Tangled…8 years ago is still modern, right?
15.) Favourite Disney score?
Technically Pixar but the opening music of Finding Nemo actually gives me butterflies. I love it so much and get so excited when I hear it.
If you love Disney then please feel free to do this tag too and let me know so I can read your answers!
