4 TV Series That I’ve Been Loving Lately

I’ve been watching so many amazing TV series lately that I’ve become totally obsessed with! Working from home is giving me so much time to get fully invested in a series haha. So, today I thought I’d share with you my top 4 TV series to watch right now that have me completely gripped and that I can’t get enough of!

Description from IMBD:

“Follows the story of Claire Randall, a married combat nurse from 1945 who is mysteriously swept back in time to 1743, where she is immediately thrown into an unknown world in which her life is threatened. When she is forced to marry Jamie Fraser, a chivalrous and romantic young Scottish warrior, a passionate relationship is ignited that tears Claire’s heart between two vastly different men in two irreconcilable lives.”

Outlander has quickly become one of my all-time favourite TV series! I’m seriously obsessed with it. In fact, it’s so good that when I finished it, I went back and started it all over again. I just can’t get enough! I’m now making my fiance watch it with me as I know he’ll love it too. And I’m having a lot of fun watching his reactions to certain scenes and things that happen. It’s completely gripping and leaves me on the edge of my seat all the time. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve gasped or shouted at the TV haha.

I’m even currently reading the Outlander books which are just as good. And I’m fully planning a trip to Scotland for next year. I’ve actually never been to Scotland before but this show really makes me want to go see the Scottish Highlands and all the historical sights. It pains me that there now won’t be another season until sometime in 2021 but I’m very much looking forward to it.

New Girl

Description from IMBD:

“After a bad break-up, Jess, an offbeat young woman, moves into an apartment loft with three single men. Although they find her behaviour very unusual, the men support her – most of the time.”

I’ve only recently started watching New Girl and honestly, I can’t believe I hadn’t watched it sooner. It’s absolutely hilarious and I can happily watch it for hours on end. I’m currently still working my way through the first season and so far, Nick is definitely my favourite character, along with Jess. It’s such a chaotic, quirky show but it’s super addicting and really good to watch when you need something quick and lighthearted.

Desperate Housewives

Description from IMBD:

“The “normal” suburban life for a group of close-knit housewives takes a dark turn when one of their closest friends mysteriously commits suicide. Now while trying to deal with their own hectic problems and romantic lives, each year brings on a new mystery and more dark and twisted events to come. Life behind closed doors is about to be revealed as suburban life takes a funny and dark turn.”

My sister actually made me start watching Desperate Housewives. I remember watching a couple of random episode as a teenager and didn’t really get into it. But, my sister made me watch it right from the beginning and I’m pretty hooked on it. It’s super dramatic, predictable, funny and easy to watch. It gives me Pretty Little Liars vibes but a grown-up version. We’re on the third season at the moment and right now Gabby and Lynette are my favourite housewives. It’s been pointed out to me by a few people that I’m a total Gabby haha.

Description from IMBD:

“Hamilton is the story of America then, told by America now. Featuring a score that blends hip-hop, jazz, R&B, and show tunes, “Hamilton” has taken the story of American founding father Alexander Hamilton and created a revolutionary moment in theater–a musical that has had a profound impact on culture, politics, and education. Captured at the Richard Rodgers Theater on Broadway in June 2016, the film transports its audience into the world of the Broadway show in a uniquely intimate way.”

Okay, so not a TV show but something I’ve become obsessed with lately. I was super excited when Disney+ announced they were putting Hamilton on the platform. I wasn’t lucky enough to see the live show before everything shut down but it was one I really wanted to see. While it’s obviously not the same as watching it in the theatre, the video recording of the live performance is so good and well worth the hype! I’ve watched it a couple of times already and I’m fully intended on watching it again this week. The music did take me a little while to get into, but now I’m obsessed and have been listening to the soundtrack a lot on Spotify haha.

Those are all the TV series to watch that I’ve been watching and loving lately. Let me know in the comments what you’ve been watching. Of if you love any of these series too.

I hope you all enjoyed this post. If you did then don’t forget to subscribe to Beauty and the Bookshelves. You can also follow me on Instagram, Twitter and Pinterest too. Thanks for reading!

It’s such a ridiculous show haha but I love it too, very addicting. New Girl is hilarious, I’d watched a couple episodes before and didn’t think too much of it, but when bored in lockdown I just binged it from the start and now I love it ?
