What I got for Christmas 2018
Hello everyone and welcome back to my blog! I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas however you spent it and are enjoying a relaxing weekend. I for one never want to eat again, I say this while a tube of pringles sits temptingly close by. My Christmas was filled with laughter, food, alcohol, movies and of course presents! Today I thought I’d share with you what I got for Christmas this year.
Just as a gentle reminder this post is not intended to come across as ‘braggy’. Because I’m a nosey person I love reading about what other’s got for Christmas and how excited and grateful they were for the gifts received. I understand many people don’t like these types of posts so feel free to click off now. Personally, I really enjoy them so wanted to write one of my own.
Like every year I received a lot of chocolate both in my stocking and from people. I have quite the stash now which I am working my way through. Somehow I think it’ll be a while before the diet starts again haha.
Hotel Chocolat Rocky Road Slab
I’ve been wanting to try one of these huge chocolate slabs from Hotel Chocolat for ages! I had put it on my birthday wishlist and my sister decided to get me on for Christmas! The Rocky Road flavour is one of my favourites. I’m very curious to see just how long this takes me to eat!
I got a couple of DVDs for Christmas. Homeward Bound was in my stocking and was one of my favourite movies as a child so I’m excited to re-watch it! My dad bought me Christopher Robin which was probably my favourite new movie of 2018. I’ve already watched it a couple times since I got it, I’m completely obsessed with this movie!
Hotel Chocolat Gingerbread Hot Chocolate
Jaz got me the gingerbread flavoured hot chocolate from Hotel Chocolat. I’ve never tried any of their hot chocolate’s before so was really excited to get this. I had actually also bought him this for Christmas and the regular flavour. It’s extremely thick and creamy with a ginger spice kick to it. I’d love to try the regular flavour too so will definitely splash out to buy another pot.
There are 672 days until my wedding so my aunt and uncle got me this beautiful wedding planner. Since getting engaged I had been wanting to get one of these but couldn’t really find one I liked, but this was perfect! I like that it has a little ‘Bridal Notes’ book with it too, I imagine that’ll be very useful. I plan to use this more for making memories rather than to actually plan, adding in pictures and dates and fabric swatches to look back on in years to come.
Ti Sento Necklace
My gran got me this beautiful necklace which I had been eyeing up for a while. I wanted the little sparkly pendant to clip onto the pearls my sister got me for my birthday. I’ve worn it a couple times just as a necklace and really love it. It’s very pretty and adds a nice little sparkle to every outfit.
Winnie the Pooh and Piglet Toys
I was so so excited when I got these from my mum! As I said earlier Christopher Robin was my favourite new movie this year and I desperately wanted the toys after I saw it. Piglet was always my favourite character but I absolutely love Winnie the Pooh too. I wasn’t expecting to get both of them but I was very happy I did!
Jo Malone Perfume
Jaz bought me my favourite perfume from Jo Malone which I was really grateful for as my current one was getting very low! I love this scent so much, it’s really fresh and uplifting and makes me think of spring.
From Jaz’s brother, I got this HUGE bottle of Jagermeister which is my favourite drink. I think I’ll be saving this one for new years eve haha.
My mother got both me and Jaz a Jack the Ripper and Haunted London tour which I am beyond excited to do! I love spooky things and we get to see some of the most haunted streets where many of Jack the Ripper’s killings took place. I think we’re hoping to do this at the end of January and I can’t wait!
Eleanor Oliphant is Completly Fine
After seeing this book pretty much everywhere and after a co-worker recommended it I added this to my list which my mother then bought for me. I’ve started reading it and think it’s pretty good so far, it’s a little confusing to start and I’m not sure what to make of the protagonist yet but I am enjoying it.
Swarovski Rocking Polar Bear
For the past few years, it’s become a tradition that Jaz gets me these little glass ornaments from Swarovski and this year was no exception. He got me this adorable polar bear wearing a hat and a scarf and I love it! It now sits proudly next to the others and looks so adorable.
Urban Decay Naked Cherry
My dad bought me the Naked Cherry Palette which I was very excited about! I’ve wanted this palette for ages. I’ve played around with a bit and have not been disappointed. The colours are gorgeous and they blend together so well. A full review of this palette will be going up in January!
Pink Topaz Ring
I’ve been wanting some jewellery with my birthstone in for a while but didn’t like my actual birthstone which is yellow topaz. So, for Christmas, my mum got me this pink topaz ring which I love. It’s very simple and pretty and the colour is stunning!
L’Or Pure Radiance Primer
If you’ve been reading my blog for a while you’ll know this primer is my holy grail! I completely ran out on Christmas Day and luckily had one sat under the tree from my sister!
Jaz’s mum got me a Ted Baker gift card which I wasn’t expecting at all and am very excited to use and my gran got me a John Lewis gift card. My mother, sister and I all got money and gift cards for Christmas so we’re planning a shopping trip at the beginning of February.
Ofra X Nikkie Tutorials Highlighter
I’ve never tried anything from Ofra before and had heard so many great things about their highlighters. My mother got me Cloud 9 from the Ofra X Nikkie Tutorials collab and it is pretty blinding! I’m excited to use this more and will probably end up buying a few of their highlighters haha.
My mum got me this pretty leather bag that’ll be great for nights out and goes together perfectly with my green Ted Baker coat. It’s such a pretty, jewel-toned colour and will definitely come in handy in the future.
Juvia’s Place Mini Masquerade Palette
I’d actually bought this same palette for my sister and loved the look of it so much my mother decided to get it for me too! Juvia’s Place are my favourite brand for eyeshadow and I have very high hopes for this. The colours look amazing and you get a great mix of neutrals and bolder shades. I can’t wait to play around with it.
I’ve seen so many jokes and memes about people who got Airpods for Christmas and I just happen to be one of them haha. Jaz got me these after I tested out a pair months ago and loved them. They sound amazing and mean that my days of untangling headphones are no more! I’m very grateful he got me this and hope to god I don’t accidentally lose one haha.
Afternoon Tea at the Bath Pump Rooms
Lastly, my mother has booked a table for me, my gran and my sister to have afternoon tea at the Bath Pump Rooms on New Years Day. I can’t wait for this and think it’s a great way to start 2019!
That’s pretty much everything I got. There were a few other little bits like eyeshadow primer, pyjamas, a giraffe lamp which I’m obsessed with and silly things I got in my stocking but I couldn’t include everything in this one post haha. I was very spoilt by everyone today, we all tend to buy each other way too much, and I’m very happy with everything! We’ve got quite a few exciting plans for 2019 now, such as the afternoon tea, the haunted experience, a shopping day and I got Jaz a driving experience which we’ll go to in the summer.
I hope you enjoyed this post. If you’ve written a ‘what I got for Christmas type’ leave a link in the comments as I’d love to read them.
Thank you all for reading and all the support this year. I hope you all have a fantastic start to 2019!
