What I Got For Christmas 2021: Christmas Hauls
Another Christmas has been and gone, and while that makes me very sad, it does now mean I get to enjoy all the amazing gifts I received! My family and I always have a problem with overbuying presents. Every year we say we’ll cut back, and every year it never happens. So, we were all very spoiled this year.
As always, before getting into this post, I just want to quickly mention that I am in no way bragging. Just like I would talk about what I got for Christmas with friends and family, I want to share it with you all too in a fun and lighthearted blog. Personally, I love seeing what everyone got for Christmas on their blogs, Instagram posts and TikToks – because I’m nosy and like to see people happy.
Taylor Swift Red Scarf
My husband had actually ordered the Taylor Swift Red scarf for my birthday in November. But, it didn’t arrive in time. So, he saved it and gave it to me for Christmas instead. As a huge Taylor Swift fan, this was a very exciting gift. And I’ll be wearing it, along with my Red cardigan, a lot this winter!
Harry Potter Attack on the Burrow Lego
If you follow me on Instagram, you’ll know that I’ve been a tad obsessed with building lego recently. So far, I’ve built the Hogwarts Express, the Night Bus, the Fluffy Encounter, and the Home Alone house. My mum got me the Attack on the Burrow lego, which looks really fun to build. And it comes with all the Weasleys, plus Bellatrix and Fenrir Greyback too. I’m definitely very excited to start building this one.
Harry Potter Studio Tours Tickets
My mum also got us all Harry Potter Studio Tour tickets. That’s right, we’re all going back again because we’re obsessed! I feel like I’ll never get bored of the Studio Tour, no matter how many times we go. We haven’t booked a date yet, but are thinking about going toward the end of 2022 to see the Hogwarts in the Snow event.
Sara Miller Placemats
I got these pretty pink and gold patterned Sara Miller placemats which I absolutely love. Even the edges of them are all shiny and gold. I’d been looking for some decent placemats for a while but hadn’t come across ones that I’d really like. But these were perfect!
Royal Worcester Pastry Forks
My sister got me some Royal Worcester Pastry Forks, they’re one of those things that I knew I wouldn’t use very often but wanted to own anyway. They’re ideal for birthdays, or any other time we want to eat cake/dessert. And they’ll last for years to come too. Each fork features a cute animal with a little festive touch which I’m a big fan of.
Narcissa Malfoy’s Wand
Narcissa Malfoy’s wand is, without a doubt, one of the coolest looking wands out there. And, when Helen McCrory sadly passed away earlier this year, I wanted the wand to honour her in some way. But, it seems like many people had the same idea as the wand sold out very quickly. My sister got her hands on it from the official Harry Potter shop, and now I get to proudly display it at home.
Harry Potter Lego Switch Game
My sister also got me the Harry Potter Lego Switch game which features years 1-7, and I’ve been fully addicted to it. It’s such a fun game, and I’ve been enjoying spending my nights exploring the Lego Harry Potter world, going to lessons, flying, playing Quidditch and solving mysteries and challenges. Also, can you believe that this is now the second game I own for the Switch? I bought it in March 2020 along with Animal Crossing and never actually bought any other game for it, so it’s definitely a nice, refreshing break haha.
Pink Car Mats
I never thought I’d be the type of person to add car mats to my Christmas wishlist, but, I did, and my dad bought them for me. In October, I got my very first car, a green Mini Cooper, which I named Gilderoy after Gilderoy Lockhart. I wanted to jazz it up a little and thought pink car mats was the way to do it. And I was right! The mats now match my pink mood lighting, and it feels much more like my car.
Anna and Nina Candle Holders
My mother in law got me some very pretty, and very delicate, candle holders which I’m almost too scared to get out of the box haha. They have a stunning, intricate design and look so luxurious. I’ll be waiting until we take all the decorations down before displaying them on our fireplace.
Caffe Nero Hot Chocolate Milano and Mug
Caffe Nero is my favourite coffee shop and their Hot Chocolate Milano, which is a very rich and bitter hot chocolate, is always my go-to drink. As my sister works for Nero, her boss allowed her to buy the Milano mixture and take the official mug used for them, to give to me for Christmas haha. I actually really love this gift and will be using that mug for every hot chocolate from now on!
Thomas Kinkade Little Mermaid II Framed Painting
This year, my husband and I have started to get into collecting a few art pieces for our home. So far, we have one piece by Bob Barker, which is my personal favourite as it’s dark and gothic and a little spooky, and two Marvel pieces from Nigel Humphries. To add to the collection, my husband spent a small fortune and got me the Thomas Kinkade Little Mermaid II Framed Painting. I was very surprised when I opened this as it was totally unexpected. It’s such a gorgeous piece, and we’re currently deciding where best to hang it.
I love anything and everything cosy, so my mum got me a pair of slippers which are gold and shimmery outside and super fluffy inside. I haven’t owned a pair of slippers for years and wanted some that would be easy to slip on and off and could be worn outside too for when I need to take Luna out in the back garden, so these were ideal!
Swarovski Christmas Ornament
Our tradition continues as my husband got me another Christmas Swarovski ornament to display in our cabinet! For every birthday and Christmas, I can expect a Swarovski figure from him, and this year was no disappointment! The figure of a little bear holding a Christmas sweet is definitely one of my favourites with how cute it is.
Jo Malone Perfume Set
I only ever wear the one perfume from Jo Malone and had been wanting to try a few other scents, so my mum got me a miniature perfume set. Featuring my usual Lime Basil & Mandarin, along with Wild Bluebell, Fig and Lotus Flower, Wood Sage & Sea Salt and English Pear & Freesia. I’m excited to try them all and even layer a few for something unique.
Jungle Book and Les Mis Clothbound Classic Books
Another thing I’ve started to collect this year is the Waterstones Clothbound Classic books. I’d picked up quite a few of these in summer to display on a table in our hallway and really want to build it up. So, my mum got me both the Jungle Book and Les Mis books to add to the collection.
Jungle Book Dinnerware Set
After admiring her Disney-themed dinnerware set, my mum picked up a Jungle Book dinner set for me which is beyond adorable! With 4 bowls, 4 plates and 4 tea plates, this complete set is a great size, and it means we can get rid of a few old, plain plates too.
My mother in law also got me a Rituals skincare set which I’m very excited to try. I’ve never used anything from Rituals before myself but have often bought it for other people as gifts so, finally, it’s my turn haha. This set contains the Ritual of Sakura body cream, shower gels, hair and body mist, and body scrub – perfect for a winter pamper evening!
Animal Crossing Mug and Glass
A friend of mine clearly knew that I’m still very much on board the Animal Crossing train as she got me a super cute Animal Crossing glass and a heat changing mug which is very cool. Despite being such a huge fan of the game, I don’t think I’ve owned any Animal Crossing related items – except a Stitches plush toy, which I got for Christmas last year. So, this was definitely appreciated!
It’s not Christmas without some gift cards! This year I got gift cards to John Lewis, Lush, All Saints and some cash too. I’ve actually already spent most of it, which is unlike me as I usually save them for as long as possible, but there were a few things that I couldn’t resist. I bought the Astra cardigan from All Saints in the sale, which looks so soft and cosy and beautiful. I also picked up a new pair of AirPods from John Lewis as Luna ate my old pair last month – the little troublemaker – and some new makeup bits from Charlotte Tilbury. Then, I used the cash to buy the Lima Mina illustrated editions of Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone and Chamber of Secrets.
Lastly, I bought myself, my mum and my sister tickets to see Frozen the musical in February. I went for my birthday in November, and it was such an incredible show that I got back and immediately bought tickets for all of us to see it. I’m so excited to go back and relive the magic. I think I genuinely cried throughout the entire thing, so I hope I can keep my composure this time. If you’re thinking about seeing it, I highly recommend it. It’s one of the best shows I’ve seen in a long time!
I also received a few other bits and bobs like fluffy socks, a Jimmy Choo perfume, an Outlander calendar, a reed diffuser, a little toy Hedwig owl and a Hogwarts blanket hoodie. All in all, I was very spoilt and feel super lucky with all the amazing gifts! They’ll be keeping me busy and entertained for a very long time.
