What I Got For My Birthday

What I Got For My Birthday

On Sunday the 12th of November I turned 25, something I’m trying not to dwell on too much. Not many people believe me when I tell them my age, as I look (and feel) like a 16 year old. I still get ID’d for lottery tickets, drinks and one time a couple of liquor chocolate Easter eggs, which still baffles me. Overall though I had a great birthday and some very much needed relaxation time.

I debated on whether or not I should write this post, I know some people don’t like them as they can come across as quite boastful and can sometimes cause a bit of controversy. Personally though I love reading ‘what I got for…’ posts, not only because I’m nosy, but because they usually give me good gift ideas.

Friday the 10th:

The first present I received was on Friday. My boyfriend had booked a room in the MacDonald Bath Spa hotel. Bath is one of my favourite cities and this hotel was absolutely beautiful. We were even lucky enough to get a complimentary upgrade, so we had a bigger room with a great view!

View from our room

Since it was only a ten minute walk to get into the city centre we spent the day shopping. I bought myself quite a few products from Lush’s Christmas range, there will be a haul post going up in December, and Jaz treated himself to a pair of leather, Ted Baker gloves. We also did some Christmas shopping for our family members and bought a few Christmas decorations too.

Bath is such a stunning city so of course I had to take some pictures of the sights, especially when the sun was setting.

We headed back to the hotel around 5pm to then get ready for dinner/big night out. I had recently bought a new dress from Oasis and I was so excited to wear it. The picture really doesn’t do it justice as it can’t pick up all the sparkles, but it definitely got a lot of attention that night! We had dinner at Miller and Carters, I’m still dreaming about the dessert, and then hit the crowded bars where we drank Bellini’s, talked, laughed and pretended to be students again.

Sunday the 12th:

Despite it being a Sunday I woke everyone up at 7:30am so I could open presents. I really am a child at heart! The living room was decorated with stars and balloons hanging from the ceiling and there was a pile of beautifully wrapped presents waiting to be ripped open.

I got this duvet set from my dad. While it may not be to everyone’s taste I think it’s fudging magical! Unicorns combined with Christmas is definitely something I needed in my life!

I got a box of Sally Henson nail care from my Aunt and Uncle, which I’m really excited to try.

My mum got me the Taylor Swift Reputation album and I have been really loving it so far. I also received £40 worth of Caffe Nero gifts cards from my mum, boyfriend and his mum. Caffe Nero is my favourite coffee shop, which apparently everyone is aware of haha. I’m so obsessed with their Hot Chocolate Milano’s, I highly suggest you all try one!

The Sims 4 Cats and Dogs was also from my mother. I’m very proud that I successfully dragged myself away from all my virtual puppies and kittens to write this post. It’s such a cute game! Jaz bought me the Asos voucher which I’ve spent on a Christmas jumper and NYX glitter.

As my family know just how Christmas obsessed I am, I usually get quite a few Christmas related gifts! My dad bought me this Christmas village decoration I have been lusting over for a while now. Not only does it light up but it’s also musical and has moving parts too!

Sticking with the Christmas theme my Gran bought me this nutcracker, another thing I’ve been wanting for a long time. It’s also musical and very sparkly!

I finally got one of these light boxes that I see so often from my boyfriend! As you can see I am currently using it as a Christmas countdown, although be prepared to see it in the background of most of my blogging picture from now on haha.

My sister got me this MASSIVE bar of dairy milk chocolate. I’m very proud of the fact that it’s been almost a week and I still have quite a bit of it left.  I’m pretty sure after this weekend it’ll all be gone.

I also got this autumn themed puzzle from my sister. It’s definitely keeping me busy!

I am a self proclaimed Nutella addict. I would very happily bathe in Nutella if I could. Jaz got me this giant jar that should last me quite a while…we’ll see how that goes!

Lastly I was lucky enough to receive these gorgeous Ted Baker boots from my boyfriend! I was definitely not expecting him to buy me these, I still can’t believe it to be honest. I’ve worn them a few times and they’re very comfy, the heel is the only thing I’m going to have to get used to. I love the gold accents on the tip of the shoes and the bows, and inside has the classic, floral lining. The boy did good!

That’s pretty much everything I got, aside from quite a bit of alcohol and money. I was thoroughly spoilt this year and I’m so grateful for everything.  Thank you to everyone who wished me a happy birthday on Instagram and Twitter too, you all made the day extra special. I hope you enjoyed this post, leave a comment below if you did. Don’t forget to subscribe if you haven’t already, I would really appreciate it. Thanks for reading!

I love these types of posts! (And will also write one in a few days!) Love the gifts you got in particular the Christmas village – it reminds of the village in the grinch! Sounds like you had a lovely day too – happy belated birthday! X
