Top Honeymoon Destinations

Being engaged brings a lot of fun new activities, buying wedding magazines without feeling judged because you actually have a ring on this time, browsing wedding dresses openly, making that secret wedding board public and researching honeymoon destinations! In my mind, there’s only ever been one place I wanted to go for my honeymoon, but after searching around (and actually taking in what Jaz wants too) we now have several options.

Here are our top 5 picks for honeymoon destinations!

This is the one I’ve always dreamed of going to. Whenever I’ve pictured my honeymoon it’s always been Hawaii. It looks so serene and beautiful with plenty of activities. I’d like to stay in a resort somewhere and spend the days on the beach, drinking cocktails and watching the sunset. It’s also been a dream of mine to swim with dolphins so that would be amazing too! After all the stress of planning the wedding, I think a few weeks in Hawaii would be perfect.

The Maldives

Again the Maldives look absolutely stunning. I’d love to stay in one of those overwater bungalows. It’s considered one of the most heavenly places on earth and it’s not hard to see why! The lagoons and the beaches look incredible. It really is paradise. I can definitely picture both me and Jaz being very chilled out and happy here. It also seems like it’d be a very romantic place with restaurants offering candlelit dinners under the stars.

I hadn’t really thought of Italy as a honeymoon destination until someone mentioned it to me. It’s somewhere I’ve always wanted to go. Milan or Venice or Sorrento. It’s such a beautiful place and it’d be great to have lazy days relaxing on the beach and busy, exploring days too. Plus, Italian food is my favourite so that would be a bonus!

Disneyworld, Florida

We got engaged in Disneyland Paris so it only seems right to honeymoon in Disneyworld, Florida! I’ve done quite a bit of research on which park to go to, Florida or California. Florida wins purely because it’s bigger. Disneyworld has 4 parks, Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Hollywood Studios and the Animal Kingdom which all sound amazing! As we’re thinking about going on our honeymoon in November, right after the wedding, we’d get to see it all Christmassy too! I’d love to have a couple weeks in Disneyworld and honestly, he may say different, Jaz loves it just as much as I do haha.

South Africa

I’m not exactly sure where but I’d love to go on a safari. I’ve always wanted to go on one, they look incredible and being able to see all those amazing animals in their natural habitat would be incredible. There’d be so much to do and see in South Africa and I think it’d be an unforgettable experience.

So, those are all the places we’re considering. We’ve still got a long time to decide but it’s really difficult to choose just one place! Where would you, or did you, go for your honeymoon? I’d love to know!

Kruger National Park in South Africa would be an amazing experience (as would all of these I am sure) but there are so many other parks in SA also worth a look, smaller ones, more budget friendly and less touristy – definitely worth a look into ♥ x
